Couple gadget.

Wanted to get this gadget  for Yong last year when it was first launched since he ran marathons.
Would be good to have since there was no wires.
I heard that it was easily spoilt when water got into the device so I held off.
The second generation is out.
Although not water-proof but it is water resistant.

Since I got in to running as well.
We bought a pair for each other for a advance Anniversary pressie.
Haven't tested it out yet.
Will be accompanying me for my JP Morgan Challenge coming Thursday.

I'm Inspired...

Yay!! Inspired to keep fit wor!
More than that actually.
I saw on FB one of my ex TPDB team mate who completed the Iron Man and got 3rd for her age category!
She also completed 42km marathon!
I forgot how long..think 4hr +...

Very, very inspired....
But I admit old la..so I'll stick to less strenuous races.
Ok, my aim for this year - JPMCC, Shape run and Stanchart 10km run.
It will have to be these 3 only.
And, I will be running against myself.
Basically to complete the distances.

Yay!!!

Want to give special thanks to Kat Leow too..she got me out of my doldrums....

Looking on the Bright Side...

Disclaimer: No, I'm not in depression mode again...

I find that it's usually easier said than done to look on the bright side of things.
Maybe its a bad month but I'm hearing quite a number of people being angry or upset over certain issues.
Of course that includes me since I've been in and out of 'depression' the past few months.
Depression might be too strong a word.
I should maybe say I was in a melancholy mood the past months.

Anyway, it always works to think positive but sometimes I feel that there are just no positives.
This gets really tough as we perceive EVERYTHING to be negative.
I really mean EVERYTHING.
Even if its out of good intention, it just becomes something awful.
That's perception error I guess.

I don't believe in someone ALWAYS being happy.
Either that person is ignorant or just very good at looking on the bright side.
Are there really such people that are always positive when it comes to thinking about stuff?
Tell me if you know some one 'cause I would like to know that person as well.
Maybe he/she would rub some happiness off on me.

Off topic, I happened to take a new route to come to office this week.
Took a bus from my house to TPY interchange.
The past few trips I was reading my novel on the bus.
Today, I happened to glance out of the window.
I saw TPY park.
This brings back memories.
I miss daddy...
Sometimes, I wonder how different life will be...

Jurong Bird Park on a Hot Sunday.

Mentioned to Ami some time back that it's been donkey years since we've went to Jurong Bird Park.
Thanks to her and Ms Liu - we went on Sunday (for free!!).

Yong & I woke up at 8am on Sunday and headed out for breakfast first.

Where best to spend Sunday morning at MacDonald's?

Happy face Cappuccino for Yong.
Very gelat Cinnamon Melts and Milk for me.
I suggest to those who want to try this to share it with someone.
It's nice but a tad too sweet for my personal liking.

Enroute to Jurong Bird Park.
Clear Blue Skies...
Waiting for Ami and gang.
Bird Show.
Yong looks so cocky in this photo..
Probably the angle that he takes self photos..
Lotsa Indian nationals at the park today.
Pretty, pretty..
Lory Loft - area where the birds fly free.
This exhibit was new to me and it was pretty fun.
The birds were all near the entrance where the bird food was sold for S$3.
I think it was watered oats for the birds.
They will swoop down on the food once you hold the small cup.
Noisy bunch and messy eaters!!
Very colorful and close contact though.

Within the area was a suspension bridge.
Not much birds here already since most of them were waiting near the entrance.
The only few other birds not waiting for food..haha...

Unexpected guest.
Yong pointed out that he looks kinda sad.
Maybe lost?
The tail was VERY long.
Within the African Waterfall Aviary.
Largest man-made waterfall but I don't seem to have an impression of coming here.
Should have but probably too long ago.
Yong was saying that he's in the army and sees plants, waterfalls etc almost daily.
I made him take this photo and told him..
Here's to remind you of the forrest...

Last photo with the Pink Flamingoes.
It was really hot!!

After that, we headed to Woodlands.
Wanted to see baby Christine as she was sick for some time.
She's really smart!
I love you too!! hehe..
Look at how she was sitting??
So Ah Lian!
Like mummy...hehe..
Retake.
Now I look weird and got fat arms..haiz..
Take self portrait la..best.
Doesn't she remind you of the baby in Monster's Inc.??

Bought Tip Top curry puff on the way home for lunch.
Yes, the one that evaded tax.
But their puff is still nice lor.
Egg, chucks of meat & potatoes!

Took a nap and than headed out to meet Ma and Ami for dinner at Bishan.
Had Fish Head Steamboat.
This was heated by charcoal.
There was one more vege which I forgot to take as usual.
Mich had either training or project so she didn't make it for dinner.
Prada!

It felt really great to have spent so much time with family today.
But it's really, really tiring.
Back to work!

Early Mother's Day...

Ate out on Saturday night for dinner with MIL and BIL as he's going to Thailand over Mother's Day.
Didn't take many photos except for 2.
Yong kept digging into the food before I could snap a photo.
But, it's nothing much since it's Fish & Co. hehe..

Wore the other S$10 dress.

And the other photo?
Ler Jun and his meal.
Cola Tonic and NewYork Fish & Chips =)

Siti came back from her Manila trip with a surprise for me!!
REALLY Y-U-M-M-I-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!!

Chef Tony's Popcorn...

White Country Cheddar...

I also received my order of Geo contacts.
This was supposed to have been sent to officce but they sent it here instead.
Also, the address was wrong.
No wonder it took over a week before I got it.

Late Night Prata.

After a jog, Yong suggested to head out for Prata supper.
So we did...

Leaving the house.

Crossing the street to the Prata store.

Yong and (I) after ordering...he looks pretty happy eh??
Must be the food that's coming...

Teh Alia & Teh Bing.
Huge Teh Bing!!!

Egg Prata with Chicken & Fish Curry.
We ordered 2 kosong but it never came.
So we just called for the bill and left.

Emo..

I'm probably one person that's very easily affected by people around me when it comes to emotional burden.
Although its really nothing that I should think twice about but I just do.
And when I do, I start becoming emo...

Simple Sandwich...

After the ultra heavy Taiwanese lunch.
Headed out for a jog/walk but the skies turned dark grey real quick.
Made a simple toasted tuna mayo with cheese on Focaccia bread sandwich.
Very filling...

I miss Taiwan...

Welcome 2 Taiwan!
Hahaha...no lar...didn't travel to Taiwan.
Just went to Joo Chiat in search of Taiwanese food since Yong had to head to Katong to get his contact lenses...
Some of the food (& drink) reminded me a little of what I ate in Taiwan some years back.

滷肉飯 or braised pork with rice.
Was a little different from the one we ate in Taiwan.
I remember the one in Taiwan - they used minced pork.
This one was fatty pork.
It did taste similar to the one I had in Taiwan despite the difference in meat.

Didn't eat this in Taiwan but ate a similar rendition at 油条大王.
This was the pork floss with egg wrap.
I would say this one isn't as crispy as 油条大王.
But it's not as dry as 油条大王.

Other 小吃 that we ordered to share - Fried Spice Chicken, 臭豆腐 and 锅贴.
The 臭豆腐 wasn't that bad as it wasn't that smelly.
Also the Suan Cai that came with it was not bad.
锅贴 was a little normal but the ginger and vinegar had a tad bit chilli in it.
Probably won't order it the next time.
Lastly, the Fried Spice Chicken was pretty good.
Doesn't really taste like the one we tried near Rainbow Hotel but it was ok.
I miss the XXL chicken chop from Shilin.
Can't find anything in Singapore that can really compare to that yet..

Last but not least, the item that made me miss Taiwan even more....

BO BA NAI CHA!!
Bubble tea!!
Aside to Siti, see the foam on top of the tea? That's the way it's supposed to be.
I can't seem to find a closer taste than this to the Taiwan one.
Some might say that S$2.50 for this is pretty expensive (ok ma..Koi also about there) but I think this is as authentic as it gets out of Taiwan.
This is shaken by hand too.
The pearls were pretty Q and the size was just about right (not too big or small).

I told Yong that if I ever miss bubble tea, this would probably be my choice.
Can tabao =)

Think now a bit sore throat after all the fried food...
