New grooomed Prada.

Amy sent me a MMS of Prada being groomed.
He was so cute with all his hair off so I went home to see him before I flew off!

He looks so smart with all the hair shaved off.

The bean bag was Michelle's.
Note the past tense.
I think Prada thinks it belongs to him instead.

Sick..again.

Just got back from Phuket.
Of the 6 of us - 3 came down with food poisoning although we didn't all eat together.
Am recovering well but yesterday was like hell for me.
The waiting time, taking the plane etc etc etc.
Thanks to Yong who took really good care of me the whole time we were there.

Kevin's new makeup book.

Heard that Kevin (Beautymaker) was coming out with his 2nd makeup book.
Headed to Kino today and saw it on 10% off.
With the Kino member, the price of this was about S$20.

2 books inside.
1 has all the techniques on makeup - how to trim your brows, apply single eyeshadow, apply lipgloss etc etc etc.
The other has details on different types of skins, problems (dark eye ring. big small eyes) etc etc and how to apply makeup to correct these 'errors'.
It's all in Chinese so I'd probably need some time to complete the books =X

The free gift?
Of course its from his Beautymaker collection - 8-in-1 BB cream!
As you can see from the above photo.
I'll test this out and review again.

There are promotion items on PayEasy till 30 June 2010.
I've bought a couple of items from Beautymaker before and I'd have to say they are pretty ok.
Let me test the BB cream first.
My problem with BB cream is that they are always too light for my skin and then I look like a ghost =X

Friday Night.

Thanks to an invite by Alfred, we headed to his house for a gathering cum birthday celebration for Evette.
Some photos...

Nico.

Alfred, Evette and Ethan.
Ethan always takes photos with a frown.
That's his style.

Rive Gauche cake - very nice!
Yummy!

Happy Birthday Evette!

Sleeveless tops and tanks.
Sleeved tops (the white lace dress was 150 baht from Platinum)
Dresses.
Brown doctor's bag from CTC for 199 Baht.
Last piece but I love it to bits.
My only bag for this trip.
Necklaces and earrings from CTC.

These are all the gifts I managed to get.
Not much to go around.

Stuff I got for Yong.
Other than the shorts, the rest was from airport =X

Land of Thousand Smiles - May 16 (Day 4).

After checking out, we had to wait at the lobby while the buggy took other tourists out to First Hotel.
A taxi pulled up and asked for 600 baht to fetch us to the airport.
We said no and continued to wait for the buggy.

The buggy that fetched us out.
But just at the corner we got a cab to the airport for 400 baht.
No additional highway toll.

Our taxi driver.
This was the main road at Platinum.
The taxi was driving real slow.
I realised why when we moved further.
The barricades by the red shirts.
There were red shirts under the bridge waiting.
They were staring at the cab as it passed by.
We passed by these barricades by the police and soldiers.
They checked the boot of the taxi and our driver explained that we were heading to the airport to catch out flight home.
Although it was Sunday, it was really quiet on the roads.
No or little traffic as we headed to the airport.
There also weren't much arrivals but many departures.

Our lunch at airport.
Papaya Salad
Chicken wings.
Green Curry with Rice.
Char Siew rice.
We were the last to board the plane!

On our way home.

I want to thank all the Thai people - guides, taxi drivers, van drivers, Baiyoke Boutique staff etc for showing us their professionalism and kindness while I was there over the last few days.
I wish for a fast recovery of the country as a whole.
And, I would love to go back to Bangkok once the situation is better.

Land of Thousand Smiles - May 15 (Day 3).

Saturday!
Time for JJ!
Bright blue skies but there isn't as much crowd at JJ as before.
Carrying Yong's huge bagpack for my 'war'.
No photos since it was shopping time!

Time for food and rest as my bag was really heavy and it was really hot that day!!!

Fried Egg with Rice.

Cooling watermelon juice.
Really sweet!

Fried Chicken Wings.
Went on to get a doggy bag for Prada and to JJ Mall.
Head back to hotel via taxi.

Passed by on the way back.
Heard gunshots and saw the soldiers moving in.
The road was blocked so we had to alight the taxi and take a motorbike in to the hotel.
That was the exact same way we came out from the hotel.
Troublesome as it may seem but we are pretty well protected.
I think ang mo (since they look different) are the safest.
I applaud the journalists for going near the live-fire zone to report the latest news.
We decided to come back early so called Jetstar to change flight.
They were pretty understanding and changed our flight for us for free.
The hotel also offered to refund us for the last night in full.

So, for the final dinner, we headed down to the streets before nightfall to get some local food.

This was one of the smaller alley.
Most of the people here were locals with some tourist like us looking for food.
Business as usual for some..but it was pretty quiet.

Ami buying some fried stuff.
Another back alley.
We bought quite a lot of food.

Char Siew mee! yums!
Fried Wanton, meat ball and sausage with sweet chilli.
Otah which was infused with herbs and spices.
Tasted like tom yum otah.
Too spicy for me.
Cup corn which was sweet!
Not due to the natural sweetness but they add condense milk and sugar.
Roti desert.
Has egg, banana, condense milk and nutella!
The egg made it weird.
I miss the crepe at Phuket!
Our best friend.
Almost finish!
