happy and sad..

Happy:

Well, the happy stuff first..I met with mei and gang last Sunday and went to Kbox..I think its addictive coz I am going again this Friday with Ami and Michelle...hahha..

The next happy thing was that on Sat we went to DragonFly to celebrate Sky's birthday in advance..she was late for 2 hours!!hahah...met Jolene there as well..so now I'm waiting for Camy to upload the photos and I'll steal from Facebook...

Sad:

I came back to office last Friday and our dear pantry auntie was not in..so I thought she took another day to rest..sad to say..that was not the case...her daughter was pregnant last year and this time aunty wanted to resign so as to look after the baby..totally understandable...the reason why she wasn't in office on Friday? The baby died shortly after birth..I think the reason was that she could not breath properly..upsetting isn't it?? I haven't spoken to Aunty about this as I am afraid she'll break down...everytime I think about it..its already so unbearable for me..how would she feel as a grandma?haiz....

Life's really short..so enjoy it while you can and be grateful for it....

CNY

this CNY was kinda short with only 2 days..BUT..it was fruitful still....

Day 1: as routine..we went to the temples and then to yi ma house to meet with all my mum's relatives....than it was on to Davine's house...my first time there!!

Day 2: surprise visitor at 10am in the morning!!! than it was kai nian fan and my dad's relatives started coming in...

It was nice seeing all my relatives and I believe some of them also feel that gathering once a year is too little...so I told them there will be 1 more this year...my wedding..haha...

hearing problem??

last night...Michelle was asking me a qn about her laptop....this is what i heard:

' jie, do you think i should change my laptop after you die or when i go poly?'

i was horrified...why need to change after i DIE??

what she actually said:

hahahaha...joke of the day....
i think it was something like that la..but the meaning is there....
she mumbles her words so much that I have difficulty understanding what she's expressing...and I don't think its only me...haha...

lim chee guan saga...

every chinese new year since 6 years back..I will go down to chinatown and queue for the famous lim chee guan bak gua...well..its a way to show my filial peity to my mum since I cannot afford much...the funny thing is..the queue always gets longer and never shorter despite ppl saying things like..oh mei zhen xiang or xiang wei bak gua tastes better...

this year will probably be the last year i'll be queuing and since i started my blog...i just want to share the 'experience'...

1st...don't queue if you are not prepared to wait for more than 4 hours..usually the waiting time is that long...

2nd..you must be mentally prepared to be treated like animals in the zoo...pedestrians will walk pass and say siao ah or they will take pictures or even videos of the queue (which includes you)

3rd..be prepared for the sun, rain and wind..hahaha..this year was so windy that I was so cold and had to wear a jacket..yep..jacket!

4th..be weary of queue-cutters...yea..it happens and also of people asking you to help them buy...my view is..since i need to get why not help them but of coz at a small profit right??hahaha...

5th..if you are lucky...you will see reporters!! none this year though...

6th..there are 2 lim chee guan...directly opposite each other..i feel that there's a difference in bak gua..so you decide...

7th...if you see bangla in front..beware!!! these are the people that buys in 20kgs for their bosses!!of coz this will add to your waiting time...oh..each person can buy 25kg by the way....

8th..shop opens at 9am sharp...queue starts forming at 6 i think..i arrived at 8 and the queue was already very long (!#!(%R!@_!*)

9th...go with someone..coz u need a runner..to get you drinks, food, papers, jacket etc..never NEVER go alone....

10th...if you can avoid queuing...JUST AVOID IT...ahahhahahaha...joking...


If you have any other questions about queuing to buy their bak gua..feel free to ask...
If you must know..we arrived at 8am and only got our bakgua at 1245pm or so...

Updates on buffy: she went to the vet AGAIN on Sat...finally her stitches were removed..I see a little of the tumor growing back but her wound is healing...so that's good....=)

pissed and upset...

well...we didn't close the deal on the flat at blk 12...reason? the owner now wanted 10k COV...=P yeap! initially the post was for 7k COV..so we offered 8k hoping to close the deal right? no.....their agent's manager came and than said that the previous offer was 10k and the owner now wanted 10k too..i know that it may not be alot of commission for the agent and I don't really blame the agent but its the owner that I am pissed at...since he think he can sell at 10k...ok..i wish him luck...not like it'll be difficult la..but anyway, its over le..so back to the drawing table for yong and me.....

headache....

yesterday, uncle elvin, yong and I went flat viewing around the Upper Boon Keng area...found a flat that I really liked...but its giving me a lot of headache....

1. Agent of Dennis Wee - kept telling us that there were xx number of offers and going to close soon etc etc..

2. Uncle Elvin tried calling him over and over again with no response...@#!^!^@#^

Apparently, flat owner is asking for $7k COV which we are fine with..now we need to secure our loan with HDB which might be rejected...nvm....so we want to secure the flat right? we need to put a deposit and sign an option to exercise but the stupid agent just didn't want to answer...so finally the manager called back...said $8k and he'll hold the flat for the next 2 weeks...now i need a cheque, an option to purchase and HDB please approve the loan!!!!! I really love the location and the flat itself...

tomorrow we will be going to sign the option to purchase so now i pray that the loan at hdb's end goes through..that's all I am praying..this way I can have my own flat and have buffy living with me...those that read this post...pls pray for me and yong as well..thanks!!

CNY...

This is probably the last CNY that I will be spending in my mom's hse...so..to make it a little more memorable and special...I've asked Beth to teach me to make pineapple tarts...she threw in the lesson for making sugee..not bad eh??

Yest, Ami and I arrived her hse at about 12...we slogged in the kitchen all the way till about 8pm before finally sealing off the last bottle of tarts...though everyone was really tired..the tarts really tasted very good..thanks to Beth and her recipes!!oh..the pineapple tarts were from her sister and she used to sell both tart and sugee..so quoting her - must have some standards one....hahah..Elvin said she lost her touch for the tarts but I find that it tasted really good....some pictures:

Update on Buffy: she went for her Sat appt with Dr Thiru...not good enough to remove the stitches so will have to wait 1 more week...more medication given...antibiotics and anti-swelling..she's much better now..very active and running around with her leg still bandaged...
