HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 'LIL SIS!!!

Finally 18 (which means I am also old)!
I remember my 18th birthday celebration with my poly friends (drinking)..hahahaha...
Donkey years ago man!

Anyway, we pre-celebrated Michelle's birthday as she's busy with her practise session.
We headed to Holland's Pizza Bar for lunch first.
She chose this place and the food wasn't that bad.

At the restuarant.
Look at the ceiling - its cow skin..moooo....

Wine behind us..

Michelle's pressie from Ami, Yong and me.

Trying to take self portrait...

Cheeky Monkey Card for Michelle..
Yong's words, 'Enjoy responsibilities'.

Her pressie - its a Flip camera.
More vids to come from her I guess.

Calamari - it was really tasty.
The sauce was mayo with chilli I suppose.
The batter wasn't too thick either.
Bruschetta.
Wasn't as good as I've tasted.
Bascially, Bruschetta is tomatoes tossed with olive oil, basil leaves, balsamic vinegar, pepper (some add onion, minced garlic etc) on a baguette (I've seen people use pita bread in Bali).
Some baguette's are smeared with garlic and butter toasted.
Well, there are lotsa variations to this but it is simple food and healthy nonetheless.

Salad.
Parma Ham with tomatoes and basil pizza.
I ordered this as I love tomatoes and parma ham =)
This is Americano pizza.
Bacon, cheese, pineapple.
Ami says its Hawaiian pizza =P

We headed to Holland V to order ice-cream and back to AMK for K session.
No photos though.
After that, we headed home to play with Prada.
My, my, he has grown puffy after 5 days!!!
Time for hair cut.
Moving way to fast to take photos.
All comes out to be a blur of brown fur.hahaha..

Michelle's cake.
She didn't want 18 candles.
Tsk Tsk.
Imagine how Amy felt last year when I got all small candles for her birthday.
Trying to divide the cake into 5 equal portions.
Till the next birthday - Ami's in July.

Tuesday Blues?

I had thought today (or rather this week) would be great.
I had thought wrong (& only half a day is gone).

Some stuff I heard made my day bad.
I know I shouldn't let them affect me but I feel bad for those people involved.

If its things you don't want people to hear -then jolly well don't say it!!
Don't go around saying it and when someone walks by say so-so is here so let's shut up.
How would that person feel?
How would you feel if someone said that in your face!?

Also, if you hear something that's not true (or you know might not be true) don't go ahead and happily plan things as though you know it's true. Because you don't even know if it's true in the first place.

Lotsa anger today *ooohhhhmmmmmmmmm*.....
Having Koi Vanilla Milk Tea with pearls to soothe myself.
Damn! Putting on the kilos cause of these people!

Randomness...

I've always been posting my buys but seldom do I post on stuff that I've finished using.
Hahaha..I usually buy lots of stuff and erhm..use slowly.

So, out of random-ness, here are some stuff I finished the past week (so happens that all finish at the same time only).

Left to Right.

1. Jill Stuart perfume - although this was only 30ml, I took 1 year to finish it..hahahaha...I've got another 2 more of these (and a lot of other perfumes...yes..I am S.M.E.L.L.Y)

2. Origins Checks & Balance froth face wash - i love this as its really frothy and cleanses really well. Another one of Amy's tried and tested product. Will hold off buying this until I finish my 3 bottles of Fancl Washing powder.

3. Nivea Double effect deo - nothing to say..just finished lor...

4. TBS Fuzzy Peach Bath and Shower Gel - this was one of the relaunch collection of the old scents that TBS recently did. Will bring this back to TBS for their recycling programme that they re-launched too. You know, like MAC, maybe they should have a return 10 bottles and get $5 off your next purchase kinda promo. MAC has their bac-2-mac which for 6 empties you get to choose a free lipstick (I'm on my 3rd empty).

5. Proedit treatment for permed hair - done with the treatment but not the shampoo. This is from Amy's company. It smells really nice and it repairs my hair. Keeps the curls too!

6. TFS Organture Cleansing Foam in hydrating beans - I brought this to Japan and brought it back. Was one of the item in a gift box which my colleague got for me. It's really not bad too. Doesn't leave the skin too dry but definitely does it's job of cleaning. If I remember correctly, it was S$25 in stores (or was it S$35). Not that cheap for TFS in my opinion.

CHIJ girls after 16 years....

After over 10 years of not meeting these ladies, it was great fun meeting them!!
It all happened one normal day when I was on my way to work and I saw her on the train.
Marisa Sim!
I thought she was still some where in Europe as her photos uploaded in FB didn't seem to be in Singapore.
Debbie did message me last year for a meetup but I didn't make it.

This time round, I thought it was time for me to do something!
I located all the ladies on FB (the miracle of technology!!!)
One by one!!
They were all friends on FB except for me.
I think that proves that I wasn't really doing enough to keep in contact..haiz.
So, one message on FB and viola!!
Dinner and drinking session.

We forgot to take photos during the dinner session and Marisa's boyfriend turned up so she left.
Ee Teng recommended this place, eM at Gallery Hotel to chill out.

My pint of Kronenbourg that lasted the whole night..haha...
Debbie & Cheryl
Ee Teng & me
The Gang
Cheryl & Nigel

It was really great catching up last night!!!!
Can't wait to do it again soon and hopefully when Shane comes back too.
Meeting them kinda makes me realise what people say about convent girls are pretty true...
We are loud (hahaha...I admit!), confident (some people will say yaya la), open-minded & always speak Ang Mo only...hahahahahaha.....
These are probably only some of the traits that distinguishes convent girls..there are more to where those traits came from....*wink*

Words.

Words can be very hurtful either when its being said or written.
Had a couple of experiences the past few days with hurtful words.

When someone says something, the tone, the chosen words, the sentence structure etc once put together can distort something with good intent to something that can be really hurtful to the other party.
How many times have you said something that you didn't mean for it to be understood in a particular way?

Should we be thinking a little more before we say?
Are those the best words to use to express my feelings or concerns?
Are there any other better words to use?
What tone or how should I voice it out?

And how many times have you put your own assumptions into what you are saying?
People are always assuming things, not that it's a bad thing.
But it does creates issues when the assumption is not real - how many times does that happen?
Rather than assuming, why not ask?
Even the question you ask needs to be neutral and not putting in your assumptions but the facts you see in front of you.

Our brain is that powerful and it can process millions of information in seconds why are we not utilising it?
Just a simple (maybe not to some) thought process before saying something may create a lot of differences in how it is recepted by the other party.
Even the most studied or eloquent person falls in to this trap of assuming.
I personally had to correct a professional when she mentioned that I did not love...
How does she draw the conclusion I did not love?
She didn't even asked or probe to find out more before making that statement.
I told her off, saying that it was a personal attack and to take it back as she did not know what happened.

Words said needs more practise (I agree totally as not everyone is brought up the same way) but you have to constantly remind yourself to think carefully before saying it.
Once it is said, you can't take it back.
No use saying, 'I didn't mean it that way' as the hurt has already been done.

However, words in written format - now that's different altogether.
There's no tone? Not entirely true.
There are emoticons, punctuations, happy words, polite words etc.
The English language has words that put feelings in to it. It's how you use it.
You also have the option to read through it before you click the 'send' button.

One word can create a lot of unhappiness.
Please think before you speak or write in the near future.

Repeat #

At the bottom of the well....

I always believe that when you feel like you are at the bottom of the well, there's only one way to get out and that's up.
Once again, thank you to everyone who has lent me a listening ear, showed their concerns by asking me if I was alright and giving me suggestions.
I greatly appreciate your gestures.

To some, I may have explained why I was feeling down and out.
Fine, I admit that I have been impulse and irresponsible but I did try my very best.
When circumstances are kinda stacked against you, its really difficult.

LESSON LEARNT...
HARD.

I will get out of this depression mode slowly but surely.

Actually, I did receive a couple of great news today.
1. My test results came out negative (which is a huge relief!!)
2. the guy replied saying he'll take it back but at 50% refund (still a great relief as I know he'll be in good care *keeping my fingers crossed*)
3. received an award (that's the cherry on the icing probably, it came at a time when I needed it most)
4. someone close to me actually gave me a pat on my back saying that I've tried and that's probably the best recourse

I remember someone once told me that he/she will blog about 1 good thing that happens to him/her daily.
This will ensure that he remembers the good and not the bad.
It also allows him/her to be more appreciative of what he has.
I should probably try that from now on.

Thank you everyone...

Depressed Mode...

Thanks for all those that showed me their concerns.
Am going through a rough patch right now.
It's really frustrating.

WHEN FATE CONSPIRES AGAINST YOU.

AM FEELING LIKE CRAP NOW. :(

He's eating...finally!

Thank you for all the concerns!

Freckles finally eating like a pup after the vet gave him some appetite stimulant.
However, we might reconsider keeping him as he's afterall not a HDB approved dog.
HDB guidelines are 40cm in height and less than 10 kg.
Freckles, at 3 months weigh 4.17kg (underweight) and is already close to 30cm in height.
It's really a dilemma for me.
After last week of 'training' despite being irritated, frustrated, upset, angry and many more emotions...
It's been such a long journey to see him able to 'sit', pee and shit in the toilet (most times), less whining, barking, howling since the first day..
Haiz..
Anyway, some more photos of my precious the past few days.

Crate training on Thursday.
After barking and whining, he finally gave up and went to sleep.
He's not that afraid of the carrier now so that's another accomplishment.

This was yesterday when he was relunctant to eat his meals.
Big head plus small body.
Still skinny.
At least he was drinking water - explains his wet ears!

After eating a full 4 meals (and no he doesn't beg for more), he's put on slightly more meat.
That's all I can pray for - that he eats.
If I have to let him go, at least I know he's leaving me a healthy lil pup....

Freckles doesn't want to eat.

Not sure what's wrong but he doesn't want to eat.
Haiz...

Day 4 with Freckles - when boys play too much.

Yong was trying to help tire little rascal last night when we heard a loud yelp!
Poor rascal wasn't able to stand up on his front left paw and was struggling.
So, we rushed to him and I did the usual check on his paw for cuts or splints first.
None.
Than checked his bone and joints for any damage.
None too.
I suspected it was either a ligament or muscle strain.

Poor Yong was so guilty strickened that he insisted we bring Freckles to a vet immediately.
I know it was useless to tell him he'll be fine (although I did) so we headed to the nearest one which was supposed to open till 11pm.
We arrived at 1020pm and it was 'Closed' on the door.
Luckily, the receptionist was kind enough to call the Vet back from her car.
She came back to the clinic (although a bit face black initially).
After she saw us she did explain that this wasn't an emergency case blah blah blah and under normal circumstances the Vet won't come back.
Yes, we know and thank you very much for letting us know how relunctant you were.
The clinic said it was opened till 11pm and we were not there at 1059pm.
We were there at 1020pm.
Anyway, she was a nice vet after she sounded us out but I doubt we will go back there again (even in cases of emergency - coz there's probably no vet there =P)
I already said we were sorry for asking you to come back already lor!!
I also said Thank you for coming back lor!!!
What more you want huh?
Well, it was a muscle strain.

Poor pup has to be confined for the next 5 days - no running allowed!
Oh, he's walking fine today - so no need for X-rays.
The bill?
It was S$169.00.

But I did find out that Frecky was underweight!
Don't remember if it was grossly or not but he was 4.17kg as of last night.
I've been trying to figure out what's wrong and why wasn't he eating much.
Viola! The answer came in the health tablets that the vet prescribed.
It was milk flavored.
He chewed and chewed on it this am and than started to munch a little of his puppy food!
Must be big baby - still want milk lor!!!
Haiz, think this is training my maternal instincts man.
Went and got puppy milk and some milk treats.
Like Amy's description with Prada - Freckles wallop the milk and asked for more!!
Since he was underweight - his dinner will be potatoes, pup food and some milk all mixed together.
Let's see if it works.

He barked once and went in to the toilet to pee.
Came out and barked twice before going back in to shit.
Hahaha...cute right?
It's like telling me oei..come lei..see me pee and shit!
Faint!

Such good life!
Eat already, pee and shit already...time to sleep.

Look at his posture!
So un-glam!!

Still don't bother to wake up...
He's sleeping way better than I am (that's for sure)!
He didn't whine or howl or bark last night but I'm not sure if it was due to his foot.
Let's see how it is tonight.

Astons S$0.80 promotion!!

Was posting out stuff when I realised that there was an Aston's opened at the Kopitiam downstairs!!!!
There was a long queue (not as long as by the time we left the place!)

Reason?
Their Fish & Chips and their Chicken Cutlet was only S$0.80!!!
Yeap!
S$0.80!!!
Don't believe me?

LNY Makan Gathering at East Ocean Shaw House.

Long overdue post but late is always better than never.
Thank you Senior for the photos!

Oh! Happy Birthday to Jessie!!!

We met some time back in February for a Lunar New Year get together.
Met my ex-colleagues and some new friends for dinner at East Ocean Shaw House.
Man, the place was packed when I arrived.
As usual, was late but I wasn't the latest!!!

Before the food and the late comer's arrival.
Here she is.
Next comes the food.

Steamed prawns.
Very juicy and yummy.
Ultra fresh!
But due to me everlasting itch, I only took 2.
Asking Kang not to act class and just use her hands to eat the prawns..hahahaha..

Eh, I really forgot but its actually sharks' fins.
Nope, its not salted egg base!!
Although it looks like it.
Think was crab roe or something.

My favorite!!
Bamboo Clams with Garlic - yumz!

This is fish that was cooked 2 ways.
The right side was the bones deep fried and the left was the meat stir fried.
I didn't dare to eat the bones but Kang said it was de-licious!

Spinach with fish maw.

Half the table has iPhones lor!!!!
They were trying to sell it to me!
Buy iPhone! Buy iPhone! Buy iPhone!

Last dish - peng cai.
Apparently, we've (Senior, Kang and me) have heard of it but never tried it before.
There were a lot (and I really mean a lot) of food inside!!
Reminded me of the 'one pot' that we have at home after LNY eve every year.

Fruits to end the evening?
Nope..
Linda knew the captain and asked for Nian Gao!

This was complimentary hor..
See how 'big' Linda's face was!!

The dinner set me back S$88.
But the time spent with my dear friends?
PRICELESS!
Hahahahahahaha......
