March 31st!

Yay! Michelle's birthday! But I still had to go to work right? So today, I wanted to wear what Ami bought for my birthday some years back..a Topshop jumper...my desperate try at acting cute for my age...

Went over to Ami's room to arrange for the mini celebration tonight to find emo Roxy on the bed...snap snap snap...




Went swimming after work and met Ami at Bishan after that to come home together..only to find out that the birthday girl wasn't home...anyway..she rushed home and Ami got her a cake from Awfully Chocolate..there goes my swim....

HAPPY 17TH BIRTHDAY MICHELLE!

Mich's 17th Birthday Celebration.

We decided to celebrate Mich's 17th birthday in advance this year as her birth date falls on Tuesday. So today, we had planned a KTV and a bowling session..took a cab to Kallang Leisure park at 11am to go for their k-lunch special (11am-2pm). Seriously, the food was not bad..hahaha...we were hungry so we gobbled everything before we could take photos...

After this, it was on to bowling..yong came and join us for this...there was a kids birthday party going on and if you see in my video at the end of this post, you will see that they had railings on the lane so that the balls will not go into the gutter!! how cute and how unreal! ahahah..it was like pinball but it will still hit the pins! If my dad ever sees this I think he will say that the kids have it too easy!

After that, we went to the arcade and played some games...dinner was up next...Brewerks!

Haha..I have to blog about this...while walking to Brewerks, I was telling yong about Mich being the age that they are curious about clubbing and alcohol etc..yong was saying that go kopitiam drink lor..I said he was ah pek..guess what!? when we reached brewerks, those sitting behind us were all uncles! think it was someone's birthday...we were laughing that ah pek upgraded le..no longer kopitiam...now more atas..know how to go brewerks le!!

Went back to Leisure park to get Yoguru and than we came home...video of our bowling clips..these were random and I caught 2 spares (Ami and Yong)...

Friday - Qi Pao and Wedding Shoes...

Its a Friday! I took half day today to run some errands for my wedding and michelle's birthday..

Took a bus to Funan first....well..took photos on the bus ride as usual..

At Funan..Mich finally got her salary from the IT show and we got her a green ipod nano for her birthday...we went to lunch at subway followed by a ride to International Plaza..Reason? I needed to get my or rather yong's mum's qipao altered to fit me. Nicola from Mama and Misse was a great lady..she helped me in every way she could...can't wait to pick up my altered qi paos next month...When this was done, it was close to 5pm..so it was on to Orchard Road...I needed to get shoes for my photoshoot..

Went to Tangs and than to Far East...I MANAGED TO GET ALL MY SHOES!! from the one for my wedding gown to my kua and to my evening wear!! 3 pairs in total and I only busted S$150! I got 1 extra pair of bling sandals coz it was 30% discount..couldn't resist..haha...

These shoes took us 2 hours to get...we were both so tired that we just wanted dinner...outside far east Mich saw 'Mogu Mogu' so we ate there..I have no idea what it was...quite unique..it was like typical japanese fast food joints where there were kiosks for you to order what you want, find a seat and when your no is called you pick up your food...

I look kinda cynical in this photo...hahaha...

Came home after that..I learnt alot from Mich today..we talked about tonnes of stuff - friends, boyfriends, clubbing, drinking......really enjoyed it...thanks Mich for today!

Lastly, another song that I'm in love with recently - Taylor Swift - Love Story (she's also a song writer...these young people are getting more and more talented!)

What can I say? she's a little eccentric (only wear her undies to perform) BUT she's very talented. Wrote songs for many many artists and of course for herself...her 2nd hit - Poker Face. Totally addicted to this song...enjoy!

Sisters...

I'm talking blood-related sisters...as most people already know..I have 2. I am stuck in-between, the 2nd one. People say that being the 2nd sucks, I think its really good cause you have or rather I have 2 pillars to depend on..I really thank god for the 2 of them..despite all the arguments, mood swings, attitude and pms that we have amongst the 3 of us (pls remember we are all females) we still have a strong bond between us..

Ami's probably 'The Cutie Pie', ' The One that's up to no good' and 'The one you can depend on' rolled into 1.

Mich will be 'The Tiny Dangerous One', 'The One with the Bad Memory' and 'The one that always gets hurts (physically)' rolled into 1.

Me...'The princess' of course...hahaha.....

Anyway, Ami and I go way back..like 27 years! Well, I have to say that when we were small..we had always been fighting. That's what most people remember. I do too..especially the time when they took knives out and I lost count of how many times I broke her specs (aren't you glad now you're not wearing any?) But I also remember times that we went Emporium (yes, I am that old) and Ami would dig out all her pocket money to buy Barbie stuff. We had the whole range - clothes, shoes, bags, pool, car, wardrobe, a shopping center, a kitchen.. EVERYTHING!!! At that time, in the 90s when we were both in school this was not easy and not everyone could..1 set of clothes could easily cost S$4. Ami is the big sister that gives and gives..till date..she still does..to both me and Mich and Ma *tears welling*.

I have more memories with Ami than Mich does and I will always cherish that..we had 'camping' trips, play cooking, act as teachers, act as radio hosts with a cordless phone that connects to the speaker, went on picnics, came up with a game that encompasses squash and table tennis, the disco nights we have with dad all within our 5 room flat (pls don't ever sell it) ! Ok..the superman stunt I did..=X..haha..and of course Ami's fractured arm because I wanted ice. These are all the things that time can never wash away..

On to Mich..I have to admit..I hated her when I was little..this is called sibling rivalry! Its normal! Not that normal when I tried to strangle her..yes I am horrible..I admit on this front. Now, I am glad that I did not..Reason, she's every bit like me..sometimes it's scary the resemblance. I control her tonnes. Hoping that she won't make the mistakes that I've made in my life. But now, I realised that she's all grown up and ready to venture out on her own. With her, I remember the set of red 3/4 pants set with hat she wore when she was little..she was just so adorable..now..she's pretty (though attracting the wrong *ahem*)..learning how to come home late at night and learning how to spend. It was a phase I went through as well..=P I trust her not to do the wrong stuff but like Yong tells me..sometimes its not you who want but what others want to do to you...

Seeing her grow up is really scary. She's really matured a lot and I hope she'll continue to be as happy as she is.. remember that although you've missed a big part of being with Daddy but you'll always have Ami and me to tell you these stories.

'Blood is thicker than water' - I'll always remind myself of that. I hope that even after I'm married, we'll still spend time as sisters and not loose track of each other.

Is it really possible?

Thinking on the way home after reading Mich's blog...Is it really possible to change yourself just to suit your friends?

Is there a possibility that even though you've changed and your friends realise it but you don't? Will your friends be kind enough to tell you? I've had an experience in Sec school..these are probably my real friends and I still contact them now...they told me that I've changed and it really pulled me back to earth..I think and I believe that these are the true friends that will probably stick with you through thick and thin...I really appreciate their friendship...Mei, Zhenli, Shuzhen, Dorothy and Jo...thank you. Ami has always told me this over many occassions....so..thank you jie...I love u very much....

I believe that environment changes one. What happen if its not you that's changed but its people around you that's changed and they felt like you have changed? haha..too many changes...I've seen this happen more often than not...being objective in looking at issues and not listening to only part of the comments might be a way out but seriously..who does that nowadays? Everyone just jump to conclusions based on 1 person's tale...

So, the conclusion? Just be happy lor...be yourself and ignore all the gossips and what not...

The question than will be - Is it really possible?

Shopping Sunday!

Well, another day for preparations. Today was used for searching my shoes for the wedding. Went to Bugis and Suntec for the whole afternoon. Aldo, Charles and Keith, Pedro, OG, BHG, Novo... to search for the right shoe..my god..they bling bling ones are like over $150! The best thing? all the shoes were out for my size! I couldn't believe it!

I did, however, end up with 1 pair of bling bling slipper..meant for my outdoor wedding shoot..haha..still must look pretty in slippers....
After walking for over 5.5 hours..we decided to go to Paulaner for a beer and light bites...The lady that served us..I think she had a bad day..that sums it up...

'Trial' Makeup...

Went for my 2nd trial makeup at the bridal shop today...I must say I am pretty satisified with the MUA. Oh, her name's Ivy too..so maybe that made me more comfortable. I think she's Taiwanese?

She made me look 'dolly' so its not very like me but I do like this look....

Went to pick up my first STAGE makeup - 'opening act enhancer' from lovely Sarah whom I got to know from Les Dames. Can't wait to try it out soon..she gave me some friendly advise on my makeup too...Thanks Sarah!

After that, we went to Expo...there's adidas sale, Robinson Sale, Popular sale and a food festival kind of event. Yong was joking that the place should be called ' place to spend money' instead of Expo. We spent close to 2.5 hours there and....we end up buying nothing except food..ate at the food event..fish maw curry noodle, mushroom soup in a bread bowl, okonomiyaki, mee sua, taiwan honey chicken chop and nonya zhang! it was small portions but we were quite full..I couldn't stop buying...hahha....

Now..am watching Harry Potter on Ch 5...hahaha....

Of course, MAC makeup and brushes are always part of my lemmings. Well, my last MAC product was the LE MSF in Brunette..the price went up to S$51! I think that's the end of me buying their LE MSFs...the word 'limited editions' and the wonders of how much consumers will pay! ya I'm a sucker...oh well..spend to make the economy better ma...*lying to myself*
