Buy from Muji.

I went to Muji multiple times to look for a nylon case that I use to pack my clothes when I travel.
This is something I always use to travel as it organises my clothes and compresses them into a 'bag'.

I finally found them after Muji launched Muji to GO.

They improved the assortment case (as they call it).

Now it comes with an inbuilt pouch that you can fold and slot it back.
I do agree this is a fantabulous improvement as all the old ones I've bought are all in a mess when not in use.

There are 4 different sizes - Large S$18.90 (which is huge - 40x53x10cm), Medium S$11.90 (26x40x10cm), Double Medium S$15.90 (same size as the medium but with an under compartment) and small S$9.90 (20x26x10cm).

This is the Double Medium which has an additional zipper on the lower compartment.
Great for our intimates =)
Won't be exposed if the customs want to check out luggage.

These are wonderful to arrange clothes in my luggage when I travel.

Weekly Photo Challenge - What's in your bag.

Here we go, this is another installment of Yumeko's weekly challenge.
 What's in my bag?

One of the bag that I'm using - Longchamp.

1. Cellphone/mobile phone
Erhm, iPhone 4S.
I wonder how many people are using this phone....

Has to be Kylie's (or Mr Look and her) photos on my screen.

2. Wallet/Purse/Whatever you keep your money in

 White leather Coach wristlet.
Got this off my friend and it's good for a lazy mummy whose daughter loves to play with this.
Keeps for busy for quite a while (some times even longer than her toys does).

 3. Something in your wallet [cards/coins/money/whatever]

 Here you go!
Cards, membership cards, voucher (SMRT) and cash!
I've also got instax photos in there that I use as my bookmarks =P

4. Makeup you carry on the go

Thing is I don't carry makeup on the go as I don't do touch ups.
Even these lippies have been neglected for the longest of time.
Reason being I always kiss Kylie and it's not nice to have things on my lips when I do that.
The balm and hand cream has been great on my trips especially in the plane.

5. Whatever else you wish to share from your bag

I'll just share everything!
The basic stuff I always have with me - wallet, handphone, keys.
The above are usually always found in my bag during weekdays.
Nothing out of the ordinary other than the guidebook as we are planning for a trip!

Photo of the week!

Seeing Yumeko's weekly challenge reminded me of something I wanted to start but had always been at the back of my mind.
A weekly photo and something in the week that I was thankful and grateful for.

Photo of the week!
Happy Kylie!
This was on the 2nd day that Mr Look flew off to Vietnam!
Love my little darling's smile (cheeky face too)!

Something I'm grateful for the past week.
I'd have to say since I started work at this company, one of my colleague is whom I'm really thankful and grateful to.
Although there are unhappy times but I know that she's always there for me.
And that matters the most to me!

Gmarket is freaking addictive~!!

Gmarket or now known as QOO10 is so freaking addictive!
I recently went on to get some tank dresses.
Lazy mummy's fastest method in dressing up for work.
Put it on and out I go.

From L to R: Maxi T-shirt dress in dark grey for $14.90, Ankle tank dress in light grey for $11.90 and turquoise tank knee length dress for $9.90.
Material is cotton but of different grades.

It's amazing what you can find in Gmarket.
And, you keep going back for more.
I'm controlling myself to only once a quarter!
Hahahaa...

Weekly Photo Challenge - Vacation Edition.

Although I haven't been posting for a long time, I was still following some of my favorite blogs.
Rouge Deluxe's Haru has been posting a weekly challenge that was started by Yumeko.
So, why not let's do that here too!
I'll start with a relatively easy one first - Vacation Edition!

1. Somewhere you visited on your last vacation
I was having some problem with this post because I was thinking my last vacation was actually a business trip extension in Seoul but it wasn't.
It was a Bangkok trip with my sisters which we did not take much photos (so technically I can't blog it with no photos).
But before that I did have a 'real' vacation with Mr Look and Kylie on a road trip to Malacca!

I decided to stick with the extension trip in Seoul back in March.

Where my office is located, you shall find the palace.
The photo doesn't do this location justice as it's really magnificent with the mountain range and the various statues that you can see.
The roads are 4-5 lane wide!
On my extension, I did go into the palace as well (Gyungbokgung).
Do note there are quite a number of palaces in Seoul.
FYI, this palace offers a free English guided tour at around 11am in the front entrance.

I'm getting old and I don't remember the name of this place but it was on the way to the Lotte Duty Free shopping centre.
Really pretty at night with the lights lit up.

Doesn't seem much from the photo.
This is the museum in Seoul that I went on my own.
Really pretty and calm outside.
The structure is huge as well.

This is the other side of the museum.
It has a real calming effect.

A relatively short vacation as it was only a 2 day extension.

2. Something you bought on your last vacation

 It's Korea!
Naturally, I bought quite some stuff.

Are you ready?

Tadah!
First day at Lotte Supermarket!
No plastic bags please use carton boxes (tip: its good for checkin as well!)
Biscuits, seaweeds, crackers, seaweeds.
Of course, it's not all mine!

I'll be out of my mind if I did not snag any of their skin care products there!
It was at least 60-70% cheaper than in Singapore!
These are what's left from Skinfood.
I've finished 1 shower gel and I'm using 1 facial cleanser.
I also bought a full set of Laniege waterbank set from the duty free.
Got loads of free samples!!
Best place to get will be at the supermarket as they are more generous with the samples.
Please claim taxes too!

Erhm, no I did not buy out the entire store!
I bought some clothes for Kylie, myself and Mr Look.
It's not cheap there but just look at the colors!
Pretty, pretty!

3. Something you ate on your last vacation
 Where should I even start!!!!
I seriously ate so much when I was there as my colleagues brought me around.
The food culture there is amazing!

Korean BBQ!
Seriously, it's something you CANNOT miss out in Korea!
It's yummy to the max!

School food is one place I'd suggest everyone try.
There are a few outlets so try googling.
The mari is really nice and almost everything else on the menu.
Watch out for a dish that has innards (if you don't eat them)!

Cafe Mamas - lots of Korean eat here too.
This is Philly Cheesesteak sandwich.

Local street stuff!
There was one more dish that my colleagues bought me to lunch.
I can't seem to locate the photo but I do remember exactly where the restaurant's at.
It's not cheap though and everything is in Korean though.
Drop me a message if you are interested to know where it's at.

4. A ticket/bill/receipt from your last vacation
 This is a challenge.
My receipts are either in the tax refund box or in my claims or I've thrown them away.
So, I'll make do with a logo of something else I bought.

5. The number one place where YOU live, that you think people should visit
I won't say it's number ONE but for hardcore shoppers - Bugis Village ranks #1 on my list.
For people with children I would say the zoo!
For people who like nature - MacRitchie!

Jill Stuart!

Thanks to Dorothy!!
Some things are coming home to me from Taiwan!!!!
Looking forward!

Cooking!

One of the things I like to do is actually to cook!
After Kylie came along, it became a little tough to do the cooking I enjoy.
The bottles and hot water flask took up the space for the oven and the time taken to cook was lost to a bubbly and active Kylie.
Thanks to Mr Look, I did manage to cook over the weekend!
The preparations did start the night before though but it was really a stress buster for me!!

So, it all started with preparing the soup base for Kylie's porridge.
Something simple and not too complicated.
Vegetable soup base consisting tomatoes, corn, carrots and celery.

This took 2 hours to boil and many more to cool.
Kept part of it frozen for future use.

Add steam salmon and pumpkin~ this is Kylie's porridge.

A little something for Mr Look's dinner.

Mashed potato, corn and carrots and steam salmon with hollandaise sauce.
White wine to share.
Ami - how did you make your mashed potatoes so smooth?!!!!

Simple to make this meal actually but need someone to hover over Kylie while I did the cooking.
And all the preparation while she took her afternoon nap.
But it's all worth it when Kylie and Mr Look eat their meals!

 AHHHHUMMMM!!!

Brushing up my Chinese.

On my last business trip to Shanghai in May, I decided it was time to brush up my reading Chinese.
An excuse actually, the magazines there were really affordable!!
I bought the Chinese version of Ray for 20 RMB (S$4).
At the cashier I was informed that for 10RMB (S$2) I could get another set of 3 magazines.
Being the typical Singaporean I bought all.
There were some interesting articles in the other magazines.
Ray however had some freebies that interested me.

There was a free brolly.

Loved the prints.
It isn't the best type of brolly but it is free.

Other freebies from the magazine.
Toothpaste, face mask and sanitary pad =)

The interesting thing about the magazine is that all the photos and features were from the Jap magazine.
They translated them to Chinese (prices still quoted in JPY) and all the adverts were from the Chinese market.

Long Hiatus.

It took me 15 minutes staring at the screen thinking what I should blog in this post as it's been more than 6 months!

Well, many things have happened.
Per my last post, I changed a new job!
Fully enjoying it but at the same time it has it's challenges and I shall leave it as that.

Over the week, I've decided to find back pieces of the old Ivy.
I took back to reading my novels thanks to a reminder from a close friend on FB after seeing Kylie's photo of her reading a book.
To give myself time off, I've deleted the work web mail (Mr Look saw to that personally last night).
And, this - to find bits of things I enjoy by posting in my blog (Kylie's running towards me as I type this).

I took some time to read my past posts and I realized they were all about KYLIE!!
As much as she being the center of my universe (so is Mr Look and my 2 families) and this blog is about things that matters to me, I will try not to post EVERYTHING about her/them.

A quick update on the key milestones in the past 7 months!

Kylie's 1 year old! (Kylie still comes first).

Mr Look is having to make some major decisions on his life.

I did quite a bit of traveling (for work) - Seoul, Bangkok, Bali (in 1 day), Amsterdam, Sydney, Shanghai and many more to come.

Kylie also did her 1st ever road trip to Malacca with the Lim family! Looking forward to another trip very soon!!

First studio family photoshoot (yes I <3 photoshoots).

My first wave boarding experience
.
.
.
.
.
.
multiple wipeouts and bruises!

Many more milestones but if I list them all, it's going to be a llllooooonnnnngggggg post!
Okay, Kylie's typing on my keyboard.
More posts to come!
Makeup, clothes, bags, shoes, Kylie, FOTD, OOTDs, Kylie, outings, gatherings, Kylie...you get the drift!!
