Hauls from HK.

Didn't manage to shop much during the HK trip.
Most of the items were bought at Watsons or Sasa.

Heavy Rotation lip gloss, Hada Labo stuff, Ettusais pimple cream and Kate eyeshadow palette.

It was really cheaper there!

My Esprit buy - top and bottom.
Both on sale (50% and 30% off with additional 10% discount).
Got the exact same top for Ami coz I found it really nice.
Wasn't too expensive either =).
Other than these, there were some food stuff and some disney stuff for others.

Sleek Palettes.

I've been lemming for the Sleek iDivine Eyeshdow Palettes since the beginning of this year.
Sleek's a UK drugstore brand like our Maybelline or Revlon.
The palette is actually mineral based.
Made in China =P
Ingredients: Mica, Talc, Kaolin, Magnesium, Stearate, Dimethicone, Paraffinum Liquid, Ethylhexyl, Palmitate, Propylparaben and Methylparaben.
Each palette contains 12 colors with a mirror.
Costs 5 pounds each.

I've gotten Sunset, Storm and the Original Palettes.

The black matte casing.
Some says it difficult to open but I find it ok.

Original Palette.
I love the olive greens and brown shades.

Sunset - Michelle asked me how to use the orange.
I remember Diana or Amy telling me that orange reduces the look of dark eye rings?

Storm Palette.
Love the neutrals on this palette.

I haven't really tried the palettes but on first 'touch' it's very soft.
My nails have already 'injured' a couple shadows.

9th Year Anniversary!

Came back from HK with a special surprise from Yong.

Pretty flowers and...
A new photo frame.
He told me that the frame contains all the photos of places we visit after our wedding and that there's 3 slots left so that means we can only visit 3 more places...
V.E.R.Y.F.U.N.N.Y!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY B!

Lazy Sunday.

Headed to Novotel CQ to get Yong's car and also have lunch.
Lunch was at 2nd floor Botejyu (by Ajisen).

My new specs =)

This Okos (Okonomiyaki) sucks big time.
Too much floor, not enough vege and ultra dry.
Don't try it =X

Something else made my day.

Sundae on a Sunday!!!

Give more and expect less...

I read this off one of my friend's FB (in her language) :

"I bEliF e hAppIeSt 0f pple d0n nEcEssAriLy hAvE e bEst 0f eVeryThIng, thEy jUz mAkE e m0st 0f eVeryThing thAt c0mEs al0ng thEir wAy.
An0ther wAy t0 be hAppy Is t0 "GiVe m0re, ExpEct lEss."

I guess giving more and expecting less does work but not to everyone.
Some might treat you like a fool. Hahahaha...

iNouvi Clean It Brush Cleaner - attempt 1.

Well, I headed out to get this cleaner as I saw a couple of great reviews on it.
Best of all, it's alcohol free which causes less damage to some brushes.
Retails 120ml for S$17 at all iNouvi stores.

From the iNouvi website, it's an alcohol-free brush cleaning spray. Simply spray fresh-semlling CleanIt onto brushes to clean, disinfect and condition in one easy step. With botanical conditioning agents and it's soap free. Contains aloe, chamomile, mint and orange. Well, I did try it once I got home and it doesn't smell that bad.

My eyeshadow brush with all the browns in it.

Sprayed Cleanit on a tissue.

Swirl my brush in the liquid.

Final results.

My verdict after the first trial - not a 'Wow me' product.
My brushes weren't exactly very clean. I could still see some shimmers/sparkles on it.
I will probably stick to washing with water and facial soap every month.
This will be the one I use for simple cleaning every other week.
I tried this on bigger brushes such as my foundation and blusher brush.
The results were that the center of the brushes didn't really get cleaned even after multiple attempts at the 'spray on tissue and swirl brush' technique.
On the website, it says 'Simply spray fresh-semlling CleanIt onto brushes to clean' maybe the method i use was wrong or my brushes were really tooooo dirty...so I shall try it a second time and review again.

Touch Community Flag Day.

Probably pretty unique to Singapore, there's what we call the 'Flag Day'.
I've googled the term and it usually meant a day the nation commerate the adoption of it's national flag.
Here in Singapore, there's a totally different meaning to our 'Flag Day'.
It refers to volunteers holding tin cans with stickers on them asking people if they would like to donate to the cause. It's a form of fund-raising on the ground level.
There are some organisations such as the Cancer Foundation, Red Cross etc in Singapore that hold Flag Days for fund raising.
The last time I was involved was probably during my Poly days where there were mandatory hours that needs to be clocked by each student for community service work.

It isn't easy to do such ground level fund raising work after all the 'scams' in some known non-profitable charity organisations here in Singapore.
I remember when I was in Secondary school, during flag days, people normally do drop coins into the tins.
I guess some of these incidents have really shaken the trust in people even if it's a dollar or a few cents donations.
Saturday morning was pouring (I heard there were floods in some areas of Singapore) and I met a friend for Touch community's flag day.
It was really interesting to see how some people reacted to me when I approached them for a donation.
The normal ones were 'already donated' or a smile or a shake of their heads.
I've met a lady with her daughter who wanted to donate but forgot her coin pouch - the little girl was real disappointed.

We were at a mall where there was some enrichment schools thus resulting in many children.
The excuses given to me by them were somewhat interesting.
Their replies were 'no money' so I said 'thank you'.
The next minute, they were walking out from 7-11 with a slurpee or ice-cream or a drink.
When they come out they will try to avoid looking at you and walk ultra fast. hahaha....
I get it - pleasures in life are important so I don't really fault them for it.
But from what I know - Singapore kids are real rich..haha..

There are some really 'trends' that I noticed which were pretty weird...
1. When a women is with a her partner and I approach, usually it's the women who digs her bag for her wallet instead of the men reaching into his pockets.
2. After the women has donated, she'll take the sticker and paste it on her partner's chest. (hmmm....)

Well, probably the rudest of all will be those 'I don't see you so you don't see me' people.
It's like I'm transparent. They just walk right pass you. *tsk tsk*
To these people - wait till your kids have to do community service!!

You've got mail.

Or rather, I've got mail.
Received a whole bunch of stuff earlier this week which made me a happy girl!!

Starting of with makeup first.
Stila It Girl palette for USD10 from Drugstore.
My long awaited swap that finally arrived from AU.
Nars cream blusher in Penny Lane and MAC mineralised blusher in Moon River.
Tried the Penny Lane the next day and found out that creme blushers aren't that tough to use.
Color payoff is pretty good too.

Stila It Girl palette - Chloe, Lame and Kitten shades.

Nars Penny Lane blush.

MAC Moon River Mineralised blusher.

Clinique eyeshadow duo in sunburst and some pigments that came from Canada.
Swapped away my MAC paintpots for these because I wasn't really using them.

Also received my Cetaphil cleanser from drugstore.
Heard so much raves about this being a great cleanser.
Let's try this out.

Triflex Glucosamine supplements - chewable and caplets.
Also from Drugstore.

I headed to get the Shu cleansing oil sample that they were giving away.
Apparently, it's a one step system - makeup remover + cleanser.

Got the DHC Acerola sample set from Watsons.
Ami said that her set which she got from Japan was pretty good.
Shall try this out.

Special K cereal bars!!!
It's been a real long time I last ate muesli or cereal bars.
I like the Special K cereal with yoghurt and this tastes pretty good too.
Yums!
