Everyone's falling sick...

I recently realised that there are a lot of people that are falling sick around me.
The rate is alarming and all the illnesses are not the normal ones!
What I meant by normal is the usual flu and cough or sore throat.
This time its bronchitis or lung infection or high fever or something along that line.
Is it the H1N1?

Anyway to all my family and friends reading this - please take care of yourself!

Most importantly, have sufficient fluids and rest. Sleep like me - 2230 every night!
Yes, I still follow the routine except I don't need my parents to force me to sleep on time anymore.
Whoever was the one that said as you grow older you require less sleep?
Totally doesn't work for me.
At 2200-2230 every night I will feel like my lids are closing.
So this is a habit that can be cultivated people!

Please take care Everyone!!

Anniversary Dinner...

Well, like I said, the anniversary dinner was delayed a day.

My present was a bouquet of pink roses, a card and a dinner all cooked by Yong.

I always remember 1 dinnner at his old house that he cooked for me..it was actually maggie mee and egg. Yeap! Maggie mee! BUT! It was really good mee! Have been hooked onto it eversince.

This time round - it is a decent meal. Steak with potatoes!

I am sitting here, typing the blog on it, taking photos and he's in front of me..staring at the oven, adjusting the pans, stiring the soup etc in the kitchen. After 8 years, this is the first time he's cooking a meal for me..from scratch!

My dinner..

Yong cooking soup..Campbell's but nonetheless it's soup!

The potatoes in the oven that Beth bought for our house-warming!

My bouquet of roses and a red heart card..my rolex is in the card...drawn!

Dinner served!

Thank you Mr. Look for the dinner.

I knew you had fun cooking. It was really not a bad dinner - for a first try.

Sister's Meeting & Dorothy's Birthday Celebration - July 25th.

HAPPY 8th ANNIVERSARY BE!!

Yep! it's our 8th year 'paktoh' anniversary today. However, due to wedding preps I needed to shift the celebration back 1 day. Sorry...

So today, its time for my sisters' gathering as well as to pre-celebrate Dor's birthday that happens to be on the 27th.

I really want to thank all my sisters - Ami, Michelle, Mei, Dorothy, Josephine, Zhenli and Siti. Thanks for being willing to be involved in my wedding and taking the time out to be my sisters. I can't find a better team of sisters for my wedding. Thank you so so much. Words can never describe the thanks I have for all of you.

We had our meeting at TCC at PS. After the brainstorming session - 'how to saboh Yong & brothers' mission. We walked around PS and headed to Fish & Co next to Park Mall to pre-celebrate Dor's birthday. It was my first time being on the second floor and it was really different from downstairs. Oh, I also never realised there was a live band performing there at night. I think it's probably only on weekends.

Anyway, some photos I stole from FACEBOOK. Photos are taken with Zhenli's newly won Nikon SLR Camera!

I had really fun time ladies! See ya for shopping soon!!

Buffy.

At a time like this, some of us came to a conclusion to probably put Buffy to sleep to end her misery. As some of you may know, Buffy went for a surgery in December last year to remove a lump on her hind leg. Being the strong dog she is, she survived that operation and had a wild time after that with her new found freedom.

However, recently, we realised that the lump is back and its bigger than ever. Although it doesn't hinder her from movements (i.e. she can run and jump per normal), we can see her limping occasionally. I don't know if it was a wrong decision to have removed the lump in the first place but I decided not to put her through a 3rd surgery this year. I just pains me to see her in recovery and not being able to move as freely as she's always had.

Well, we will schedule her visit to Dr Thiru after her birthday in October if time permits. Dr Thiru mentioned before that her previous lump was very close to pressing on her nerves/vein which would have been disastrous. Haiz..yeap I am totally devastated but I would rather release her from the pain of not being able to run freely.

Some of the vids of Buffy which we (Ami and I) took recently...

Thank you for all the wonderful memories you've given me the past 6 years Buffy.

Saturday - July 18th,

Yes! After 1 whole week of lying in bed and eating medication - I am much better! Thanks to all the peeps who asked!

Well, it was just in time for more wedding preparations! Seriously, I never really knew there was so much stuff to buy and prepare for a traditional wedding - the list continues.

Thanks to Amy and Yong, we made a trip last Saturday to Chinatown to get our Guo Da Li stuff for the 1st. The shop was amazing - there were tonnes of stuff and for all dialect groups! They even helped to paste the 'xi' sticker on almost everything that we bought!

After that it was off to get my additional wedding favour. The hotel provides chocolates as part of the dinner package for couples' wedding favours. However, the usual me, wanted something more personalised so that it means more to my guests and also something that's not useless (after the wedding it will be chucked aside). Had wanted to bake cookies for each guest but with the amount of stuff mounting - I had to pass on this notion. Ami had initiated to help me do all the baking but for 280 guests! I didn't thought about putting her through baking hell.

Settling the favour, we headed down to Serangoon broadway to finalise the graduation photo and frame. That place is always so crowded its scary! I think it is probably the only studio that I've seen so many people going in and out all the time. With this done, it was time to head home!

My Saturday didn't end here. Of course not! We had dinner plans! It was off to Orchard Parade Hotel for our food tasting.

Cover of the menu.

Inside of the menu (minus the food)

The food was well not bad! I would say my guests would probably have no complaints on the food (keeping my fingers crossed). We were all pretty full by the time we hit the 5-6 course. Probably Ler Jun had the best time eating. We had a few comments on the food so we'll wait for the banquet manager to get back to us.

And thus, this concludes my Saturday!

My trusty CottonOn black dress that I wore the whole day. The cropped knitted cardi was thrown on at night for the dinner.

The 3 of us - I will miss times like these...

Today's Saturday and as usual weekends are busy for me. So toodles and I will update later.

Happy Birthday Ami!

Yesterday, July 8th was Ami's XX Birthday! I got her a cake and XX candles!!hahaha...let the photos do the talking...

Try counting the XX candles!

I've got a surprise too! Well, yesterday we went to Paragon to do some Aussino shopping and dinner at Soup Restaurant. Walked pass chocolate factory and saw these chocolate drops that really resembled the chocolate drops that our doggies ate. I've been really stressed recently probably due to work, house and the wedding so my IBS sort of came back after over 10 years. Today, I had a back treatment at BodyShop's Green Sanctuary. Yong went to get the chocolates for me while waiting. We had a tiff couple days back due to the wedding so he was trying to make it up to me I guess. It worked!

6 weeks to Aug 15th.

It's officially the first Saturday of July and that means I have 6 weeks to my wedding day. Ah...suddenly it seems so fast! The house is also almost 'moved in'. My room is close to 70% empty - clothes, bags, makeup, intimates are still around as I still need my stuff here. The rest are all shifted to the new house - the moving continues.

Thanks to Henry, we went to the Ultimate Spa on Friday evening to get a massage done as it was his birthday 2 months back and he had a promo for S$30. I would find the massage too rushed for 60min and for the cost of S$69.60, I wouldn't go back there. Must bring Henry to try the Javanese massage that Yong and I go to.

Yesterday, Starhub was finally scheduled to come to set up the cable and the cable modem for the house. I really doubt I have the spare time to watch cable - I already have a full schedule for Ch 5, 8, U and Okto! Thanks to Lynette, I've got a WRT300N router for free! Starhub only gave a cable VOIP modem but we needed wireless for the house. Now its done! Yippee!

Next up, had to get my hair washed and blow dried for the graduation photo-taking with my family. It took close to 1 hour and 10min to wash and blow my hair. Haiz..I got poked, knocked, scratched on my head and I had to pay S$16 for the torture! Anyway, some photos from the photo-shoot (I realise this is the 3rd photo-shoot I've went in the past 3 months!). Think I am beginning to be a pro 'model liao.

Finally, we've all graduated (except Mich)! When I was asked when I graduated, I kept saying last year. Ami and Yong told me it was 2 years ago. I can't believe that 1 year simply flew past that quickly and I've also gotten my Grad Dip in HCM (time to update my CV). We all looked pretty smart in our gowns eh?hehe...

It was off to Ikea after the photo-shoot as it was too early for dinner. Yong and I needed to get boxes and stuff for the new house. Guess who I saw? Xiaxue! haha..you know, she's really not that fat in real life. Mich saw her first and ran to me.. 'psst..guess who..'.

Off to dinner after spending another S$200+ at Ikea. We had to drop off all the stuff at the new house first. The things were taking their toll on the boot. We had a hard time deciding where to go for dinner - ECP, Jumbo, Suntec, Ah yi abalone and the list goes on. We were pre-celebrating Ami's birthday on the 8th July. At suntec, we wanted to go to Tony Roma's but the queue was horrendous! In the end, we went to Tonkichi..

Yep, all our food! For some reason, at 2am I felt a stabbing pain in my abdomen and I ran to the toilet. The rest, you can imagine as I cleared my bowels in 10mins.

Ok, am going to AMK to get household stuff and then off to the house for more un-packing! Back to office for work tomorrow too.

Things I've bought recently..

Got a request to post what I've bought from BKK on my last trip so I thought why not just post what I've bought the past 2 weeks. There's been no makeup shopping for the past months..my last was the Jill Stuart stuff that I've gotten from Taiwan (I think).

First up, my buys from Bangkok:

Shorts Galore! I absolutely love their shorts, only about S$6-S$8 (150-200 Baht) each!

2 dresses from JJ.

Another denim dress from JJ at only 150Baht. Belts are from Platinum at 150Baht each or lesser.

Many tees! 100-150 Baht each.

Tops!
I've also gotten 2 bags - 1 from Naraya and the other from JJ and 2 pairs of 200baht pumps. That's about all from Thailand.
Before I left for Bangkok, popped into CottonOn to get my replacement black pumps. Saw the black dress and long cardigan that I couldn't resist. Haha..

And after I came back from Bangkok, my F21 loots arrived. 1 BF shirt, 1 pair of shorts and 2 basic tops.

That's all! Not a lot right?
