Niu Er Kose Talkshow.

Headed to the Niu Er Kose Talkshow last Sunday with Ami and Diana.
However, that morning, I took a peek at Make-up Blogette's review on the talkshow.
So, the show started with him running around to shake everyone's hands.
The review was really detailed and the main thing I took away was that Kiwi, Strawberries, Oranges have very good Vitamin C source which is great for the skin.
White Fungus is also good for the skin - 2 ways to use it are:
1. to double boil until the white fungus water become thick - this can be used on the face directly (white fungus can be thrown away)
2. Eat after you cook it as dessert =)

After all the talk on the ingredients and how good kose's infinity products were, we went into the demo on correct application of products *excited*.
No matter how good the product, if it's applied wrongly, there is a difference.

A few demos showed the amazing fingers that Niu Er had!!
Face contoured, lifted, double eye lids showing, cheeks were more fleshy (ie skin wasn't sagging), laugh lines were reduced, dark eye rings/bags reduced, dark spots reduced.
It was certainly amazing to see it live instead of on TV.
Well, I'm using some techniques I've learnt - eye massage, using the cotton pad to apply toner, serum and moisturiser.
I'm seeing some significant changes on my lines but not much cause I can't really massage pressure points due to my pregnancy right now.
The lines on my neck and eye rings were significantly improved.
Telling myself I need to perservere with the techniques!!

Anyway, the tickets were S$33 (incl of sistic charges) and there was a S$20 voucher given back.
Thanks to Kose for the great deal!!
Ami let me have her S$20 voucher so I had 2 and I bought 2 products!

Exfoliating massage gel (right) which was S$35 - this was the first product that Niu Er used on a couple of 'volunteers'.
With the right circular massage techniques, face was lifted, spots reduced, laugh lines were lighter, oil bumps on the face reduced.
It was looking to be the must get product for the price.
Of course, he wasn't stingy in the usage of the product which may mean that I might get a different result at home.

The second product I got was from Kose's makeup range - Esprique.
Their Dramatical Stay Base EX (S$46).
Comes out to be a pearly pink base.

It was an eye opener to see Niu Er in action.
If he comes back next year, I might head to see the talkshow again.
Till next year than.

Airport Haul: SKII, Clinique, Elizabeth Arden & L'Occitane.

Headed to the airport to meet Jennifer for lunch one day and it became a major shopping spree for me.
I was telling her if I worked at the airport, Mr Look will be wondering where my salary went to every month!
Anyway, thanks to Jenn, there were extra discounts on my items.
*hopefully, soon she can get the Coach wallet with the points chalked up =)*
Back to my items.
FYI, Changi Airport is having an additional 7% discount on products at the public area (before check-in).

L to R.
L'occitane's best seller Almond Milk Concentrate, helps to firm and tone the skin. Retails S$68. I heard from the SA that the price recently dropped from S$78.
Elizabeth Arden's Pure Mineral Loose Powder in 02. I've been eyeing on this for some time now and finally I did some comparisons. Metro sells it for S$46+ after a 20% discount. At the airport, it retails only for S$45! It's even cheaper than with a 20% discount in town.
Clinique Chubby Stick in Whoppin' Watermelon, this was sold out in US but Jennifer managed to get it for me inside the Checked-in area. I did a swatch below.
Lastly, SKII masks.

My chubby stick!
Thanks Jennifer!!!

I love the color!!
Let me try it out soon.
I bought Bird's Nest *again* too!
Will get Mr Look to drink some with me~

Japanese Nonno Magazine.

Got the Nonno magazine with the 20% Kino discount last week.
Also got another Taiwan Vivi magazine for myself, 2 Men's Health and a Jap magazine for Mr Look.

I saw this advertisement inside for MM's new launch!
Thanks to Haru's post, I found the detailed swatches on Yuki's Lazy Channel.
Then, it suddenly dawned on me that from Fuz's update in her FB, the chocolate brown mascara already sold out in Japan when it was launched.
This was launched in Taiwan a month ago, Jan 24th.
Oh well, maybe it's not meant to be.
I wanted to get the blusher after seeing the whimsical advert.

Next issue of Nonno (due to be out March 19 in Japan) comes with a big Anna Sui Dolly wink zipper tote.
I will think that a lot of people will be grabbing this.

The free Dip Drops cosmetics pouch.
Pretty spacious to hold many makeup, hand cream etc.
This has a relatively broad base, double zipper closure, feels like waterproof canvas and has a pink lining.
I love the carousel blue and white with flower motif fabric.
Girly but not so due to the blue =)

The insides were lined with pink cloth.
Many pockets but sadly no brush holder.
I do see myself using this for travel (whenever that may be) =)

The Marmalade Pantry.

Thanks to Ami, we headed to The Marmalade Pantry for some tea last Friday.
I had wanted to go to TWG initially but this place was not bad.
FYI, afternoon tea is available 3-5pm daily for S$20 (without Champange).
I've tried their cupcakes before and they are S$4.20 each - yummehz!

Cube sugar.
Nice display.
We were supposed to have tea but I was hungry so I ordered a Steak Sandwich!

I love the chips - can't stop!!
We think it's sweet potato =)

Sunshine smoothie =)
We had to get a dessert and Ami chose the Chocolate Fudge cake.
All I could say was Oh My God!!!

Look at the size?!

Yea!
It was H.U.G.E!!

The remains =P
It was certainly a good meal.
Thanks Ami!!

Happy Birthday FacesbySarah!!

Thanks to Sarah from FacesbySarah everyone enjoyed a 30% discount at MakeUpForever's pro store in Tanjong Pagar on Saturday!
The 30% is usually meant for MUAs only.
Since my prenatal pilates classes was 1 street away, I had Mr Look fetch me there an house earlier to take a look!
I had initially wanted to get some items only - Aqua Eye cream, Aqua eyeliner and a concealer.
Of course, I ended up with slightly more~

The SA that served me gave me a very nice bag~
Thanks Chloe.

The items I bought - 8 in total.
The HD powder, a blusher and another liner I wanted was out of stock.

I had went for 2 colors initially - 3 and 16 (each retails for S$42).
3 is silver and 16 was a more pinkish tone - easy to use on a daily basis.
Chloe had me sold on 21 a turqoise blue shade which looks super gorgeous as a liner!
Can't wait to try these babies out soon!!!

I had wanted the powder blusher in 20 but it was out-of-stock too.
Instead, I was asked to try the HD blusher (S$55) which was highly raved too!
I never had a cream blusher before as I'm worried on the over piling - which makes it like an ang ku kueh on my cheeks!
Chloe gave me some tips and I hope to put it to use soon.

Next, 2 aqua eyeliner in 1L and 22L (S$32 each)
1L is called Star Black, its not a matte black but a shimmery black which I think will be not as harsh.
22L is a grey tone not sliver.
Another one I wanted to get was 12L which was a blue with green highlights. Very pretty.
So, I picked up another tip from Chloe which is to use the aqua liner like a eyeshadow chubby stick (especially those with colors) and it stays for the whole day. =)
If you watch the Eyeliner Experiment done by Sarah, this eyeliner actually won 2nd place as it's waterproof =)

Next up, HD concealer (S$55).
Yet to try this out so I'll review this next time.

The last thing I got is something I didn't know existed *duh*.
Chloe used the So Divine cleanser on my waterproof swatches and I asked about using it on bare skin with no makeup basically just as a cleanser.
She suggested the above item called Pure Water (S$45) instead since there's no waterproof makeup on my skin.

Description off the MUFE site:
The cleansing, moisturizing, alcohol-free water, Pure Water, removes face and non-waterproof eye make-up.
It leaves the skin soft and toned.
Make-up free skin feels fresh and purified, with no oily film.
Pure Water moisturizes the skin thanks to the active ingredients included ib its formula.

How I plan to use this?
It's actually for my confinement month.
Looking for something that will be able to cleanse my skin without leaving it dry and without the need to rinse with water for the first 2 weeks *hopefully*.

So, what's my total expenditure on this spree?
I did a calculation on all the items without discount.
*drumroll*

A whopping S$345!

But the amount I spent *Thanks to Sarah* was
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
S$ 241.50!
A total savings of S$103.50.
Wee~
Thanks FacesbySarah!!!

MAC Stylishly Yours - Impromptu Buy~

Well, you must be wondering how come I purchased this 2 months after the Stylishly Yours collection was launched.
Stylishly Yours, Cham Pale and Mickey Contractor was launched at the same time on the first week of January.
I bought Rose Ole highlight powder from the Cham Pale collection on the day it was launched.

Sadly, the SA at Vivo Tangs told me that stocks for Stylishly Yours weren't in yet.
So I reserved the Beauty Powder.
It came in on a Tuesday and I asked for it to be held till Sat when I can get Mr Look to fetch me to Vivo.
Sadly *again*, the SA say she only can hold it for 1 day so I had to forgo the powder.
Last Thursday, I headed to pick up a reserved lipglass for an international custom purchase swap and they still had the Beauty Powders in stock!
It was meant to be after so long.
Retails at S$41 and Vivo still have both BPs in stock.

Happy Buy of the Day.

Ecotools Bronze Brush review.

My first EcoTools Brush - purchased from Drugstore.com at USD9.99.
I bought it with the plan to use it as another loose powder brush.
It's really dense and soft.
Really thick too!
Here are some photos of the brush compared with my current loose powder Kabuki brush from Everyday Minerals (retails at USD12).

Basic Description (taken off drugstore.com) of the Ecotools brush:
earth-friendly beauty
soft, cruelty-free bristles
natural & recycled materials
reusable storage pouch (I've thrown it away)

This earth-friendly brush shows respect for the planet:
Highly sustainable bamboo handles.
100% cruelty-free, soft taklon bristles.
Recycled aluminum ferrules.
Reusable storage pouch

Look at the difference in size~

Everything about the Ecotools brush is bigger than the Everyday Minerals long handled Kabuki.

So, I've washed it. No dropping of any bristles during the first wash.
No color run as well (trust me I've had color run with very branded brushes).

I've used it a couple of times. I still feel that the brush is very soft and picks up sufficient face powder.
It is able to go into the sides of my nose due to the softness of the brush.
One not-so-good part that I can foresee is that the size is too big for traveling.
I'd choose the EM brush for travel anytime.

Hansaplast Junior Plasters~

I forgot I bought this some time back when it was on sale at Guardian.
Recently, Mr Look cut his toes so he grabbed whatever was easiest available.

Hansaplast Junior Plasters with animal prints!

On his toes.
He said, " So embarrassing...."
I said, "So cute...."

Metro Boo Boo.

Well, the Metro quarterly 20% member preview sale will happen today.
However last Friday Mummy told us that it was the sales so we actually headed down to Paragaon.
Hahaha!
Metro was real empty!
Headed to dinner and I went to pack some macaroons for my hubby from Canele.
Sponsored by Mummy~

2 already eaten =P

Valentines' Day - Part 2.

We had made plans to go to District 10 Bistro with another couple on Saturday but unfortunately one of the party fell sick.
So, instead of the usual dining out, Mr Look & I had crabs!
Or rather, crab!

No Signboard!
Mr Look took his bike there and bought back for me *loves*
1 kilo is S$45.
Our crab was S$48.
My first crab since I don't know how long.

Yummehz!!!

My carbo for the dinner.
Mr Look had rice instead.
And, he ordered a vege for a balanced meal.

Tadah~ total bill for Vday dinner~
Thanks Mr Look!

Valentines' Day - Part 1.

It's really funny how Mr Look and I went about getting gifts for each other for Valentines' Day this year.
I had an errand to run in town last Friday so I headed out and I sent him an sms, 'Tell me what you want?'
His reply was, ' You tell me first!'
After close to 10 years of being together, this wasn't what I expected.
Anyway, I did reply - bags and makeup (wahahha).
He told me not to go into LV (which was exactly where I was) and he wanted a key pouch for less than S$100.
I was -_-".
Walked all over the place - Braun Buffel, Mont Blanc etc.
And I found it!!
Something I like which he will like too.

On his side, he rushed home to change upon knowing I was out getting something *also hinting his brother*.
Headed to Raffles City.
I roughly had an idea what he could buy - Kate Spade, Agnes B, Coach, Thomas Sabo.
Mr Look's not a shopper so he goes out, gets it and comes home (most men are like that) =)
He did tell me he got a shock at the price.
Wahahhaha.
In the end, we changed pressies on the spot instead of on Valentines' Day.

Tadah!
I was right in guessing Thomas Sabo!!
When I told him stripes and it's not Gucci - he guessed Bally too!
Talk about knowing each other!

I didn't expect him to choose something this intricate and I love it to bits!

It's a charm for Vday encrusted with pink blings!!!!
Yes, I love this loads!!!
He was seriously shocked by how much it costed.
Next charm would probably represent the one in my tummy. =)

And his present.

Key pouch as requested.
I love this when I first saw it.
Calf leather and its soft.
Mr Look doesn't know why he wanted a key pouch - he's still figuring it out. =P

大女人 - 曹格.

New Song by Gary Cao.
I love the lyrics.

因為愛你這就是幸福.

New Harbour Cafe~

Was telling Mr Look it sounds like a HK Dim Sum place - New Harbour =P
Anyway, it's a cafe/pub located opposite where I take my pre-natal pilates classes at Tanjong Pagar.

Mr Look waited at the Cafe last Saturday for me to finish my class.
And I joined him there for a light lunch after that.
He will be doing this almost every Sat from now on.
*Evil laugh*

Guinness Stout.
He's becoming ah pek.
But the half pint glass was really cute!
Dainty~
Hahaha, never thought I'd use that to describe stout!

Happy Mr Look~

My Orange Juice which tasted a little weird.

Pork Bangers &Mash.
Pretty yummy though it was S$13.90.

Brewerkz.

One of our favorite haunts but we only go there once in 2 months or so.
Brewerkz!

We usually share 2 sides and 1 main and Mr Look has his usual beer.
Yummyz~

Poly Meetup~

Overdue post since I met them in Jan!!
It's been super duper long since I saw some of their faces.
Still, I was late due to my pilates class.
Kids, marriage, career, life - it was great just chit chatting with some of them.

All thanks to Jennifer for arranging the meetup.
It wasn't easy.
