Frustrated....

Have you ever felt frustrated to a point that you don't feel like explaining anything to anyone?
Or you just feel that it's no point to explain anything?

Oh well, no point worrying my little head over these issues.
Dinner time!!

Tawandang Microbrewery..

Relaxing Sunday..
Chilled out at Tawandang Microbrewery at Dempsey after driving around Singapore.
Went to Alexander but no parking, headed to Great World and than to Liang Court's Kino before going for a drink.
Pretty cool to sit there and read my ViVi magazine..

As usual, happy hour one-for-one beer for Yong.

I had the Thai Iced Tea with Milk.
We had wanted to eat dinner there but I found the food pretty expensive.
I'll go Thailand to get my thai food fix in April.

Headed home and walked to Geylang for beef hor fun.
That was my Sunday.

17 more days to go...

Joke of the Day.

Was watching CNA this morning while I prepared for work.
On came a commercial: -

Commercial: ' Are you seeing double lately?'

I think to myself: " I've been seeing double for 8 years..."

Last shopping before CNY.

Recieved my final loots from VS.
This concludes my CNY shopping for clothes, underwear and sleep wear.

One of my colleagues bought her shoes from Pazzion yesterday and it tempted me to go see shoes today.
Alas, I got my CNY shoes too.

Grey lamb skin with bling blings!!!

That's all for my shopping till the Japan trip next month.
No more shopping for anything except CNY goodies.

Baby Weekend.

No, not making baby la!
What I meant was my weekends were filled with little ones.
Friday wasn't, Ami, Mich, Ma and I went to sing K from 7pm till 1am..ahaha..
Yeap! You read right from 7pm-1am!
Was kinda crazy.
Near the end, we were like listening to Lady Gaga and Korean songs..

Anyway, first up, Baby Christine!
We had asked Nick and Davine to come over on Saturday.
Nick to look at Ami's computer - it's been acting crazy recently.
Davine to pick stuff up for her sister and the dogs at home.
Christine was so cute!!
She's walking now and also learning to talk.
Cheeky little fella but a bundle of joy.
Can't wait to see her grow up, go to school, fall in love and get married...
Oops, a bit far but I believe I will see those days come pretty soon.

She allowed me to carry her straight at the door!
Looked a little dazed in the photo though.

Oh, I permed my hair on Thursday!
Natural wavy perm..

Next day was Ethan's one year old celebration.
Was held at the children's playroom in the Grassroots club house along Yio Chu Kang.
Yong told me it was to start at 12 and when we arrived at 12 - there was only the mummy setting up the place.
Daddy was picking up the cake.

The place was fun!
We had a try out of the tube slides there since no one was around.

Alastiar came next and said that the place reminded him of hamsters.
Wait till he sees my photo:

Look like hamster meh?!
Oops..my top and the tube same color..haha...of all coincidences!

The cake was pretty too.
Mini cupcakes.

Saw Kelvin and Skyy at the lobby when we were about to leave.
Didn't take any photos with Ethan or Nico that day.

Back to work.
Counting down to the Japan trip briefing.

Japan here we come!

We are going to Japan!

After a very tedious journey - we will all be going during CNY!

Initially, we booked a tour package with JP Travel last Sept during a travel fair.
After calling them every month to ask about the confirmation of the group (and every day the past week), they finally cancelled the departure as there was not enough pax.
Well, I don't really blame them.
They've done all the advertising and stuff.

It so happen that we headed to Marina to see Mic's batucada performance and I told Yong I kinda remember that there was a TA at Suntec.
He suggested to head over to see if there's any.
At the bridge linking MS and Suntec, there were people giving out brochures.
Some times, I'll take it from them and throw it away later on.
Pretty poor thing to stand there and give out brochures.
Lucky I did!
There was a CTC travel fair and there was a Japan departure for CNY!
Headed there to look for Gideon and he happens to be there too!

Booked!!

And I double, triple, quadraple confirm with him that the departure was a confirmed one before paying the deposit.
Though a tad bit more costly than the original one - at least we get to go right!?

Yong and I will be extending the trip in order to visit some other places of interest around Tokyo.
Pretty excited about our virgin trip to Japan!!

A very bad dream?

Monday seemed so surreal to me when I woke up on Tuesday morning to go to work.
Was it all only a very bad dream?
Maybe the grieve hasn't hit me on Monday or just that I had to be strong for Ami, Michelle and Ma.

I remember taking the cab to Jln Peminpin to pick Ami to head home.
Upon opening the door, I saw her lying there in front of the TV.
She was like just sleeping but we all knew she wasn't.
No matter how sick she was, she always tried to go to the door to greet whoever was coming home.

I touched her cold and lifeless body while she laid there.
Saw her eyes slightly opened so I closed it for her hoping she could go in peace.
Think she really suffered quite a bit as I saw some foam at the side of her mouth.

Sorry I wan't there to witness the struggle you had to go through.
And I agree with Amy that perhaps Buffy had an easier death despite her giving me the last hopeful look before I closed the door on her.

I will always remember...
that December when we saw a MS that was so naughty at the pet shop.
How Ami debated, begged and used all sorts of ways to get Ma to agree to letting her have another dog at home after Kenny.
The time that at the petshop Ami asked me to name the dog and I said 'Roxy' because she kept sniffing at my Roxy straw slippers.
Roxy being really cheeky when she was little - she took Yong's rolled socks from his shoes and tried to run with it but she was too tiny and the ball of socks too big.
Her Vet bill when Ami brought her to see the vet due to her flu.
Her first experience with the no-no tree (Christmas tree). Sniffing around for the pressie and the result was 'No, Roxy!'
Trying to find the right shampoo to get rid of the body pimples for her and Buffy.
Being pampered with daily walks at Charles house as our house underwent renovation. She came back with all her hair tangled and had to go cut off everything.
After each disasterous grooming session, she would always look very sad when we said she was ugly.
Her face whenever we called her ah pui (I promise never to call her that again Ami, I'm so so sorry)
The turned over belly after she and Buffy ate the 800gm of Ma's Mei Zhen Xiang Bak Kwa.
Princess not going in to the toilet because of the slightly soiled papers.
The red ant that we found in her hair after the twitching walk at Bishan Park
Times when she hid behind the pillows on Ma's bed while Michelle was sleeping.
The trips that she hates to go to the beach to 'swim'.
The time she had eye infection where the whole family fussed over her cause she couldn't open her eyes.
The many times where she just laid there with Ami and nua.
Also the times that she'd growl and bark at people that resorted to 'violence' or simply Ma walking over to hug us.
Aunty (or my mother-in-law) kept feeding her with food while she was over.
The pampered princess not eating plain bread and expecting more than that.
Her smelly breath.

No more hugging her.
No more rubbing her belly.
No more making her shake hands.
No more looking at her innocent eyes.
No more sayang-ing her.
No more hitting her buttocks.
No more talking to her while she acts non-chalant.
No more having her greet me at the door.
No more teasing her with food.
No more annual jabs.
No more bo-chaping me when I call out to her.

I totally agree with XiaXue that the worst part of having a dog is the parting after 8-9 years (some might even be longer).
But the memories that come along with having a dog is really priceless.
Be it the good or bad.
We've also threw away many, many carpets or rugs due to pee or shit.
Roxy being the pampered one does not go and do her business once the paper in the toilet is soiled - she does it right outside the toilet.
They ate the bak kwa that Ma left on the coffee table, the bread that was on the dining table even - that just shows that we learn from our mistakes and try to foolproof the area.
Lucky thing was the dogs never chewed on our furniture or belongings.
Buffy did create scratches and tears on the leather sofa.
Even humans take time to get used to each other's behaviour - we can't just let other humans adopt our parents or husbands or wives right?
I'm not comparing my dog to my baby because I do not have one (although I always say buffy's my baby - its a metaphor!) but they are living things too.
Sometimes I think they really do understand when you are feeling sad or sick.
Roxy and Buffy will just stay near me when I am home sick and follow me when ever I get up to go to get water or to the loo.

I miss them both dearly.

sorry if there's any typos in this post.
just blabbering as usual.

OBITUARY

In Loving Memory Of

Roxy Low
(Sep 26, 2001 - Jan 11, 2010)

Roxy will be dearly missed by her mummy,
her mummy's mummy,
her mummy's sisters,
her mummy's sister's husband
and all those that loves her.

=============================================================
Roxy's been diagnosed previously with a bacteria infection of her womb and required the removal of it.
She went for surgery 2 weeks back and has been pretty weak since.
She had seizures this morning and Ami called me at 845am to notify me.
I had a call at 930am and at 1005am, I got an msn message saying 'Roxy's gone'.
'Had to be professional and finish up the orientation call' was what I told myself.
1010am Michelle called me, still in the call so I hung up on her.
1015am Ma message me asking if Roxy passed on at home or was put to sleep.
Too many things!
My first reaction - call Ami.
Sobbing on the phone.
Called Michelle.
Sobbing on the phone.
Told my boss that my sister's dog passed on and I had to come home instead of going to work.
Fetched Ami on the way and came home.
Roxy laid there like she was sleeping.
That's all.
I don't know what I am blabbering about but I know that I love Roxy and I will miss her dearly.

Qing Ying.

Had dinner at Yong's mum's house on Thursday.
Mum looks after babies on weekdays and now there's 2 at her house.
Qing Ying's the older one, about 16 months old.
She'll be going to childcare in another 2-3 months time.
I had craving for ice-cream after dinner.
Apparently, Qing Ying also had a craving.

Her alliance is with the cone.

So long as her lips touch the cone (regardless of the ice-cream or the cone) she'll be giggling and laughing in happiness.

Her tatical moves:

She'll make her way (quietly) next to you.
And then, call me 'jie jie' and 'mum mum'.
Smile at you innocently pointing at the ice-cream.

Look intently at the cone.

Act cute lor.

Try her luck at touching the cone.

Asks you for it with her eyes.

Lick!

This is the other baby girl.

Roxy's Recovery.

Met Ami for lunch on Wednesday at home to see how Roxy was doing.
She really looked like she lost a whole tummy.
Still not really eating on Wednesday and still puking.
Ami bought a new brand of wet food that looked really like human food.
Smells great too!

Think it was S$5 per box.
Roxy's not really interested either.

She looks really thin.
Ami says she's like anorexic.
Well, she was interested in drinking fruit juice.
At least that's some vitamins in the body.

Back @ Work!

It may sound weird but I'm pretty glad to be back at work!!
Hahahaha..
Despite waking up early (not really that early for me), squeezing to get in to the MRT and some other stuff - I'M HAPPY TO BE BACK!
I guess it's just being around some of my colleagues and doing the job that I enjoy.

HAPPY MONDAY PEOPLE!!!!

New Year Resolutions.

Yong asked me what my new year resolutions were when the clock struck 12.
I was like 'eh..I never had any coz I never remember them one lor'
Hahhaha...this is true..I usually forget my resolutions after I set them.
Anyway, like Objectives, I've decided to set SMART objectives/resolutions (if I can remember them 3 mths down the road)...hahahha

1) To reduce my spending on clothes, bag, shoes & accessories etc a month to S$150- S$200. (I try...wahahaha..)
2) To chat with Amy, Michelle and Ma at least once a week.
3) To see them at least twice a month.
4) To finish watching all 5 seasons of 超級星光大道 by the end of this season. (Am done with season 1!! Yay!!)
5) To stop buying eyeshadows, blushers and primers (makeup la) for the next 6 months. (Keeping my fingers crossed on this - cnfm will break this once I go Japan so set = not setting..wahahahhaa...)
6) To save at least 35% of my salary monthly. (this is my Shi Fang Qian..shhh)
7) To travel overseas (not including Malaysia) not more than 6 times in 2010 (counting my trips - Japan in Feb and Thailand in April, so I have 4 more to go =P)
8) Hopefully, meet my 5 Secondary school sisters more than 6 times a year (we usually only meet on birthdays which equate to 5 times and Christmas so that's 6!)
9) I will learn to control my temper at work and at home better.
10) Need to learn to relax and take things slowly.
11) To start exercising lei..(I know Yong trying to get me to exercise. Will try to go swim 3 times a week starting next week, ok?)
12) Per Xiaxue's blog's last resolution- ' I will be more patient with dumb people.' (I try.... =P)

Added:
13) Not to bring my work laptop home from Mon-Thurs if possible.

Yoga's Showcase Tickets.

It's 2 Jan!!
Yeap, I just came back from Bugis Junction!
Woke up at 1030am!
Yong said he never saw me so enthu before. Haha.
That's cause its been pretty long that I've had an 'idol' step foot in Singapore.
The last was probably Kylie Minogue whose concert was cancelled due to her illness.
Her tickets were pretty expensive too.
Anyway, headed down to Bugis at 11am - not to queue but to eat brunch la!
Was a little worried that there might be a queue so headed to check out the area - NOTHING THERE!
Probably because the age limit was 18 and above so not much kids could go in (Heng!)
Went to foodcourt to makan.

Ate this pasta with italian sausage and bacon.
It wasn't really tasty - the noodles were too dry (cooked way before and not enough oil) and the garlic were a tad bit overcooked.
One word - sucked.

Went on to Kino and than on to Starbucks for a cup of Chai Tea Latte (my new love).

Yong had accompanied me with my nonsense today. Hahahha...
Tickets were supposed to start sales at 1pm but at 12noon when the table was set up, people started to queue.
So I asked Yong to move outdoors.

The queue at 12 noon.

Think they were starting the sales of the tickets so I went to queue too.
Man it was hot!!
But it only took me 20 minutes to get the tix.
Some people in front bought like 10 tickets at one go.

Can see me?

Tadah!

Took this photo at the ticket counter.
While I bought the tickets for Yoga's showcase, Yong went to get the 1240 tickets for 'Bodyguards & Assasins'.

Can't wait to go for the showcase.
Hopes that it's not disappointing.

The re-printed album with a bonus DVD of his showcase in Taiwan.
Was waiting for this to come out before I buy his album.

Oh, went to watch a movie but I didn't have any cardi or jacket.
So headed to buy a shawl from CottonOn.
The shawl was S$10 with any other purchase.
They had this bottle of water for S$1.50 which had the label 'Message in a Bottle', 'A morally conscious water'.
This was supposedly for raising funds for people in need around the world.
They have a CottonOn foundation that supports Charities around the world.
Don't blame me for being a skeptic after all the NKF and Ren Ci saga but they don't state what these charities are and how much of the proceeds goes to them.
FYI, MacDonald states that with the sale of every Happy Meal - 5 cents goes to the Ronald MacDonald Children's Charity.
Albeit it being only 5 cents - they stated how much and where it goes to.
Anyway, this is not the main thing.
I headed in to buy 2 items - the S$10 shawl and the morally conscious bottle of water.
I ended up with a receipt that was this loooooooonnnngggggggg.....

I had to tilt the angle of my camera to capture its full length.
It's easier 3 times longer than the S$2 note next to it.
All this for 2 items?
Which part of morally conscious is this??
