As with Lunar New Year Tradition, reunion dinners are eaten on the eve.
However, this year we will be in Japan so we had an early reunion dinner with my uncle over the weekend.
Ami made a reservation at Peach Garden for their set meal.
We had our specialised menu as I opt not to eat Shark's fins when I have the choice.
Thus the menu was different.
Started taking photos before the start of the meal - purple haired Mic and Ami..
Yong and me..
Me and Ma..
3 sisters..
Family with Uncle..
First up, Salmon Yu Sheng..
When everything is added in.
We ordered more of the Pok Cheoi - always a crowd pleaser when there's small kids.
Photo of after it's being tossed.
As we toss, we are to say auspicious words and toss it high.
This is to signify what we wish for the new year and the higher we toss the better it should be.
Ami, Michelle and I chose to have the double-boiled chicken soup...
The rest chose to have the braised shark's fin.
Yong with his Shark's Fin..
Deep-fried Fillet with Chef's special sauce.
The sauce was spicy and sourish.
Yong liked it as it was spicy - belachan.
I would prefer it less spicy..haha..
Braised Baby Abalone with Fa Cai and Dried Oyster in Beancurd pouch.
Yummy!
With this dish, I realised that Ami, Mic, Uncle and I left the abalone for last..haha..talk about family resemblence!
I forgot to take the noodle dish!!!
It was too nice!!
And for dessert - Nian Gao and Tang Yuan.
Both very meaningful to end of the dinner.
We went to shop around as we were pretty full.
Ma bought me oranges..
8 Yong Chun Lukan oranges for S$10.88!!
Thanks Ma!
Next up, reunion dinner part 2 - at Yong's house.
