1st weekend of 2009...

well...like the title says..my 1st weekend of 2009 was spent at 1degree15 at Sentosa Island..Yong, Beth, Elvin, Deb & family and Bee Chin & family...some swimming, board games..a very good laksa steamboat dinner....hehehe....some pictures:

The hill facing room...this is huge and the toilet is huge too...totally enjoyable.....

Some candid shots that yong thought of...hahaha....

Beth and Deb with Li Ern and Shi Ern.....

Li Ern's emo moment..think she was thinking of jumping into the tub just to play water...so....

We went to the pool....she went wild there!!!!they forgot her swimsuit and Deb drove all the way home to get it...

After dinner, Deb wanted to tire the kids out a little more so we went to the lounge to have some drinks and for them to run around...me carrying Li Ern along the bay area to see yatches parked there....

Sunday morning Breakfast time.....

This is Shi Ern....cute right?

Final shot in our room before checking out........
Yong has a wedding dinner to attend today..so he dropped me home and went off.... Diane (my cuz) was over asking us how our trip were and 'diggin' through our loots...haha...my mum's elder brother called asking us out for dinner so we all went....the last time I saw him was 08 CNY...well...we made a 'date' to meet for early reunion dinner on the 18th and I told him of my wedding date next year which he says he should be able to make it...
Update on Buffy: today was the day she was supposed to remove the dressing...so I did in the PM..the cone around her next did nothing to prevent her from licking her wound AND the antibiotic powder!! It was so frustrating...so I wrapped it up before we went for dinner so as to prevent her from licking...we had no dressing pads so I used the facial cotton to cover the stitching before wrapping with gauze...that was a real STUPID move....during dinner I went to get the alcohol swabs, non-stick dressing pads and adhesive guaze (amazing product by 3M)...immediately when we came home..I got Mic's help to hold buffy while I fed her her medi and than to change the dressing...of all my horrors!!!the facial cotton stuck to her wound!!!!I was so afraid..but...I had to remove all traces of the cotton that's stuck to her wound by using the alcohol swab to roll those stuck in the gaps.....SORRRY BUFFY!!!!! she was in so much pain...haiz...now...its all correct...with the antibiotic powder followed by the anti-stick dressing and than the adhesive guaze...to console her..we removed her cone and let her run like a JRT for about 3 minutes....hehehee...she totally enjoyed herself.....

Baking day.....

Today I was baking away half a day...made 2 types of cookies...rice krispies w choc chip and vanilla base cookie with pink royal icing...thinking of making cookies as additional wedding favours as it means something hand-made and sincere from me to thank all those attending my wedding..so these are my trial products....next week...pineapple tarts at Beth's house...

some pictures of my cookies...
rice krispies and choc chip cookies....cooling....

These are the vanilla based cookies with pink royal icing...planning to make some of these as favors for my wedding this year..so I need to perfect my skills....and decide on what kinda 'toppings' to make and/or what designs....

Being bottled...hehe....
Yesterday...as my previous post..I went shopping....Charles said he'll get me my Agnes B bag...I went to longchamp but there were only 4 colors left: red, black, khaki and brown...so I didn't get any...Went to Sephora and than realised they don't sell the Juicy Couture perfume in SG...what I got was this baby:

Yong is trying to get the Wii Mat for me..hohohoh.....I shall wait for that than.....
Update on Buffy: we went to see Dr Thiru today to remove her dressing...Buffy's able to walk well and run around so that's good...there's after surgery swelling but the bleeding has stopped...so now..I need to finish feeding her her medication, remove the dressing on Sunday and bring her back to remove her stitches next Sat...Now I pray the tumor won't come back....

Tomorrow: Going to Sentosa with Yong in the AM and spending the night at 1degree15 with Beth, BeeChin, Deb and their family....will update with photos...

Happy New Year!

nothing much to be happy about actually...there's inflation, economic downturn, subprime crisis etc etc....

anyway..some thoughts today...the green eyed monster is really a terrible thing...why is it that people like to compare?? So what if XX has a huge house or a new car?? I don't understand...why don't people look at what they have and be satisfied?? Isn't life treating you good enough that you have your loved ones by your side, a good and stable career etc?? Never heard of 'being satisfied'? At the end of the day, are all these things that impt that you can or are willing to trade in loved ones for??

next up...words...do they or do they not mean a thing?? For example, when the phrase ' I buy for you lo' loses it's meaning...is that taken for granted the person won't demand for it? Since you've said it anyway....why say it if you don't mean it right?? so...I'll be going on an all-expense paid shopping trip tmrw at Orchard...Reason? Yong said all the time he'll buy for me this and that...so I'm sticking to that....Tmrw i'll be getting:

1) Gucci Toufu Bag
2) Longchamp tote
3) Agnes B voyager tote
4) Wii Fitness Mat
5) Weekend stay at 1 degree 15

YES..this time I'm getting all these items since everytime he thinks that I won't take his words seriously..this time I WILL...I've given him a discount of a bigger diamond ring and a pair of diamond earrings...so I'll stick to the above 5 items ONLY...Feels like a great way to start off 2009....

update on buffy: she's trying to stand more..walk around more too...she knows that we are wrapping ther medication in bread and she's rejecting the bread now...hehe..need to think of a new way to feed her her medication....

better....

Firstly, thanks to all those who sent us their well wishes....Dr Thiru gave me a call yesterday about 4pm to let me know that the surgery went well and Buffy woke up from the GA looking good..bad news was its not a cyst it was a tumor..he asked me to leave her in their care for 1 night as she needed cage rest..her wound was still bleeding yest...

this AM Dr gave me a call again at around 1030am to let me know that I can bring her home but will need to continue letting her have her cage rest and that I'll need to bring her in again on Friday to change her dressing....when I went there..I was ecstatic to see buffy in her cage..she did look miserable though...maybe she thought I had abandoned her...anyway Dr Thiru mentioned again that it was a tumor so I asked if Buffy needs to go for any tests to see if it was cancerous..Dr said not necessary since the end result was the same - surgical removal of the tumor..

Well, before I went to fetch her. I had cleaned the enclosure with dettol to disinfect and also lined fresh papers etc..here's some of her pictures..she was not feeling comfortable and wanted to walk around..finally relenting...

Being the active dog that she is I think this is a real bad time for her as she can't move around...oh well..medication for the next 10 days, another visit or 2 to Dr Thiru and I pray that the tumor will not grow again..

On a lighter note...Yong caught this on my camera a couple days back...haha...

That's me sleeping and roxy and buffy..heheh...ok..gg to meet melissa and gang to give them their belated xmas gifts....

Worried....

yep...after 4 long years...we've finally decided to send Buffy to the vet to get her cyst removed. Just got back after dropping her off at the vet and Dr Thiru, as always was very friendly and comforting...though..he did mention the difficulty of removing the cyst..it was part of her tissue and if it grows it will sit on her nerves and blood vessels...also this is the dangerous part of the surgery..I have faith in his experiences but with every surgery comes a degree of risk...I will pray that Dr Thiru's call this PM will relay good news that I can pick her up tonight and that the surgery went well....

Buffy was really scared this morning..I think she knows that she was going out for some reason when Roxy did not tag along..it made things worse with the rain this morning..she was shivering like mad....this was her this morning before going to the vet....and yeap..I'm worried too....will continue posting my US pictures once Buffy's home....

hehe...no no...seriously....these are some of the precious presents I received from my loved ones...thank you all....

As for buffy, she had a good Christmas dinner (also thanks to Ami for cooking) and she'll be going for her surgery on Monday to remove the lump that has been growing on her hind leg...though its not harmful but it has been slowing her down and its heart-wrenching..yong and I decided to let her go for the surgery and pray that it'll be better....
