Excited?

I've been getting this question quite often the past days. My answer is a 'no'. I don't know why but no I'm not excited over next weekend. Maybe I'm just a weirdo.

It has been a great weekend. Work was great and the weekends were great too..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!

Had a great meet-up with the ladies last night, we had dinner, shopped around, ate ice-cream and did tonnes of chit-chatting. I totally enjoyed myself whenever I met up with them. Melissa had a 'trick' book with her - the magician kind and tried 2 tricks on us. In the end, we had to make her tell us how one of the tricks were done before letting her go home!
Oh well, Mei - go practise more tricks ok? By the way, Yong wanted to try the 1st trick on me lei.haha..I broke the trick!!! Thanks to Dorothy!
Dorothy - remember to return the calculator!

My boss went on her personal holiday and I certainly hoped she enjoyed the trip though I know she did call in for a conference call on Friday. Sometimes you just need to...

I've finally completed my 2nd to last load of belongings shifting to the new house. All I'm left with is the last load to be shifted after the wedding day as I still need my stuff here. I spent almost 3 hours to pack up the bedroom and find respective spaces for our stuff! It was really scary knowing I had that amount of stuff (makeup, bags and clothes). Hang in there - almost done!

Yesterday after the facial, as we were driving to Yong's house, he was sharing with me that his friends gotten themselves a new gf. One of whom name was 'Precious' and the other gf was named 'babe'. He went on joking about when the 2 of them came out it was called 'Precious babe'. So I joked that we can call our daughter 'chio', her full name will be Look Chio! Hahaha.. Or we can call her Pretty Look Chio! Not bad right?!! Boy can call 'Handsome Look Yan Dao'!! Wahahah...Damn Cool lor. Since the name will be laughed at might as well make it a compliment! Anyway, we had a good laugh ourselves...

Ok, its officially 6 more days to the big day! Nope, still not excited. =)

Ion.

Left office slightly earlier today to get my waxing done. All I can say - don't do your brazillian too close to your period, it really HURTS!

Anyway, after that I went to Ion to meet Ami and my cousin for dinner and a tad bit shopping. This was the first time I've stepped in! Many shops were already opened and there's a Dunkin' Donuts in there (finally willing to come back??). Haven't tasted the munchkins yet but I think its a lag-er as there are already sooo many different donuts shop in Singapore (kinda sick of it already). There was a queue when I passed it but it was nothing compared when Donut Factory first opened.

We went to the food court at the basement (basement 4 has shops mind you). The decor was really pretty but the food we had - so-so only. Had the Ngoh Hiang with Bee Hoon and also we saw the brand 'Fatty Weng' (Fei Zhai Weng in Cantonese) - they serve really good zhe char from what I remember. They were selling Fried Carrot Cake, Oyster Omelette, Fried Kway Tiao. Tried the Oyster Omelette (orh jian) - this sucks big time! The dish was really oily, the eggs were overcooked and it was salty..haiz..spoilt the brand name.
I have to say that the dinner was really enjoyable. We had lots of laugh! After that we went shopping. Found the Rubi shop that sells the shoes from CottonOn that Siti told me. Bought my replacement gold flats and a black one for Ami since it was 2 for $25. Absolutely love the flats. though Yong mentioned that there were many people wearing it..

After all the shopping, we came back to Bishan and I had to go back to office to get my laptop. Had to follow-up on something for my colleague. Esther told me to 'hold the fort' so I am 'holding' the fort.
Back to work...

Guo Da Li (Part 2).

One down!! Mummy, Amy, Yong and me have finished delivering the Biscuits to our relatives!

Yong, his mum and Ler Jun came over to exchange the items in the afternoon and after that we started the 'delivery' service.

Gifts from my end for exchanging.

Gifts from Yong's end. All those in plastic were the biscuits.

These are traditional Cantonese Biscuits for marrying the daughter. 2 salty, 2 lian rong, 2 dou sa and 2 sponge cake. We opened one box to share around at home.

Ler Jun with a very excited Buffy.

Went to a couple of places to deliver the biscuits - one of them was my cousin's house. Her baby grew so much since we last saw her in Feb! She obviously loves me! Just looks so so so much like my cousin when she was younger. Reminds me so so much!

Had dinner with my mom's elder brother at Sushi Tei after he came from work to collect the biscuits.

Everyone had a tired day...including Buffy though she had loads of fun and attention...

Next up, preps for our Actual Day on the 15th!

Aug 1st 2009 - Guo Da Li Day (PART 1).

August 1st - the day for my Guo Da Li. In Chinese tradition, this is a day where the guy's family come over to the bride's family to ask for the daughter's hands in marriage. In preparation of today, many items were bought by both family for the exchange.
This morning I woke up at 9am to get ready and go get breakfast from the famous prata house at Upper Thomson for my family. Thereafter, it was a whole load of cleaning - the rooms, living room, dining area..well the whole house and of course the 2 smelly dogs.
Yong should be picking up the traditional biscuits for the ceremony right as I am typing this. Either that, or he should be on his way over.
My family is sitting around waiting for their arrival.
To be continued.....

Everyone's falling sick...

I recently realised that there are a lot of people that are falling sick around me.
The rate is alarming and all the illnesses are not the normal ones!
What I meant by normal is the usual flu and cough or sore throat.
This time its bronchitis or lung infection or high fever or something along that line.
Is it the H1N1?

Anyway to all my family and friends reading this - please take care of yourself!

Most importantly, have sufficient fluids and rest. Sleep like me - 2230 every night!
Yes, I still follow the routine except I don't need my parents to force me to sleep on time anymore.
Whoever was the one that said as you grow older you require less sleep?
Totally doesn't work for me.
At 2200-2230 every night I will feel like my lids are closing.
So this is a habit that can be cultivated people!

Please take care Everyone!!

Anniversary Dinner...

Well, like I said, the anniversary dinner was delayed a day.

My present was a bouquet of pink roses, a card and a dinner all cooked by Yong.

I always remember 1 dinnner at his old house that he cooked for me..it was actually maggie mee and egg. Yeap! Maggie mee! BUT! It was really good mee! Have been hooked onto it eversince.

This time round - it is a decent meal. Steak with potatoes!

I am sitting here, typing the blog on it, taking photos and he's in front of me..staring at the oven, adjusting the pans, stiring the soup etc in the kitchen. After 8 years, this is the first time he's cooking a meal for me..from scratch!

My dinner..

Yong cooking soup..Campbell's but nonetheless it's soup!

The potatoes in the oven that Beth bought for our house-warming!

My bouquet of roses and a red heart card..my rolex is in the card...drawn!

Dinner served!

Thank you Mr. Look for the dinner.

I knew you had fun cooking. It was really not a bad dinner - for a first try.
