19 Dec: Day 3 (Part 1) Natural History Museum.

*I've decided to split up the posts as there are too much photos*

Another cold wintery Sunday in London.
Headed to Gloucester Road Station to visit the Natural History Museum.
In London, most of the museums are free except for specific special exhibitions that are payable.
I also found out that Gloucester area is like Singapore's Bukit Timah area where it's pretty atas.
Around the area there are altogether 3 museums - Natural History, Science and the Victoria & Albert Museums.

See the buildings behind us?
Kinda reminds me of US instead.
And, yes, I'm still very bundled up.

Does it look eerie?
Hahha..

The Natural History Museum.
Doesn't it look like another Cathedral or Castle?

The interior where there's a large dino fossil in the central hall.
I told Mr Look that it feels like Night at the Museum.

Looks grand.
It certainly does with the grand stairs and terracotta tiles surrounding the whole hall.
We went around to look at the free exhibits.

Haha..imagine they all came alive...

Darwin.

Tea break!
I tried their Egg Nog Latte.
Tasted like... Latte.

During Christmas, there's a ice rink on the side of the compound.
I believe if it was at night, the place would lit up.
Headed back to the train station for our next stop of the day.

Oh, the airport was closed today thus there were many people lugging their luggages back and forth due to the cancellations of flight.
The tube kept announcing that the airport was closed and reminded commuters to check and confirm their schedules before heading to the airport.
Also, there were tube strikes on certain lines while we were there.
It wasn't that bad since there are other lines that pass through some same stations.
Usually Piccadilly line is the really packed line with people squeezing into the train at major stops.
Lines were also delayed - minor or major.
So it was a real eye-opener for me to see a metropolitan city like London in a standstill due to weather.
I think if Singapore were to experience snow...I wonder if Changi will be closed..
